Thanks for the video, I just started using SketchBook and learning how to use layers.. What I'm finding is that I can see through the layers which I don't want any suggestion? I did a layer for the animal in the front. And did a separate layer of trees for the back I can see the trees through the animal.. thanks in advance

make sure the opacity for the animal is high or else you could see the trees through the animal

Hey I'm a little desperate and in need of help here 😓 I just started using this programme today because paint tool sai isn't working anymore, so I have this as an alternative. My problem basically is: how do I assign a layer to another layer? Like for example if on layer 1 I draw a heart, and on layer 2 I draw little dots, how do I make it so that layer 2 is connected only to what I draw on layer 1? Because if I leave the layers like that the dots of layer 2 will appear outside the heart too (unless I draw them on the heart myself but that's not the point). Because if I have an immagine with a pattern, and I add it over the layer with the heart...I can't erase the image myself until it covers only the heart right? There's gotta be a way to have a top layer cover only the layer below 😥

If you open the image with the desktop software you can continue editing the layers! Same with the app that you get on the windows store! In that one you dont even need to save, tha app open on the Last drawing!

Hi Sofia, I'm sorry I don't have a surface pro so I can't answer your question. I do know that the Surface is sort of in between a tablet and a laptop, which can make using desktop applications difficult at times.

The tutorial's a bit too simplistic and drags on. It would have been great if you went over transparency locking and layer modes.

After I draw the short lines, I zoom out and try to move to the long line exercise, but only the short layer moves. If I switch to the Exercises layer, only that layer moves.

My windows 10 only shows 3 layers and no other options. I can't add layers, I can't delete layers, I can only have 3 layers. I can't find anything to help with this and I'm so frustrated. My layer editor doesn't look anything like this, it has no other options.
