This rusty vise was a real challenge! I disassembled it with hammers, after that i restored all of the metal parts and gave them a nice new painting. I also made a new handle on the lathe! After reassembling this vise works perfectly fine again!

Thanks a lot! Yeah it’s pretty smart and easy to handle! But it’s not the best for bigger parts, as the operating dimensions are limited. Thanks! ❤️

Simply a genius. I love when somebody could take the high-quality items of yesterday that have been extremely neglected and refurbish them to store quality condition they deserve it and it takes a certain type of person to do this. This is heavy patients, heavy knowledge, and simply a ton of artistic skill. Always love to watch one of these videos

The algorithm recommended this video... While I'm in the process of restoring the exact same vice model!!! It will even have the same color, which I already purchased! Crazyyyyy! I'm done grinding the cast marks and I covered the rest with putty, I sanded it down to make it smooth... it's ready for painting now. But mine is in much better shape than yours. I'm speechless... Great job btw!

To and fro; if it moves, and there's enough friction that there's a chance of the bolt shearing, it has a better chance of coming out if you back-and-forth/worry it continually while unscrewing.

I really enjoyed what you done with the slit screw in the back of the handle. The result was mind blowing! Also, WD-40 is not really that effective to lose rust bolts (better than nothing, for sure). I learned that acetone and automatic transmission oil make an excellent penetrating fluid. I also recommend that you apply it 24 prior, this allow the solution to penetrate (thanks to the low viscosity of automatic oil) and corrode the rust (thanks to acetone).
