very interesting and useful video. Thanks a lot for sharing. Just a question? what do you think about mixing and mastering in the MPC?
@DaDrankKang4 жыл бұрын
The MPC Software is not a "FULL" DAW. its main focus is on making music. It does have the ability to mix and master if you know what you are doing but full DAWs make this process way easier because they are specifically design for this. In short you can do both in the MPC Software... but there are way better ways in other software. But for making the music the mpc does everything i need and more.

Hi.. Thanks for this video. I am new to MPC but i have been using DAWs for some time now. One question I have for you... Are you using MPC X just as a controller for the MPC software running on your computer? Im asking because I thought the MPC X was primarliy a standalone unit. In the case where you are using the MPC as a controller for MPC Software on your computer, when you created the original track, does that mean thats its using sound libraries on your computer, and not the sound libraries within the MPC X itself? Hope my question makes sense. Thanks

Hello, I dig your videos, I have a question. I have a song completed in the latest version of MPC Software via Rennaisance. The song is dope! However, my VST's are corrupting my CPU and causing glitches and pops. I tried changing the Bit Rate, it worked momentarily but continued. I'm not too familiar with "Re-Sampling". Do you have a video that explains how to resample already mixed individual tracks? What I want to do is re-sample my tracks "With The Processing", I don't want to chop them up, I just need continuous play and then delete the tracks as a whole and use the new program as an actual track to illuminate the CPU issues. The sad thing is I know what I want to do but can't find anyone online that does it the way I need it done. I'm hoping you can help? Thx! - jon

Hey DDK...In the tutorial on exploded exports I see that your individual tracks for kik, snare etc.. are each dedicated to an entire track? In my work flow I only use the MPC software for drums and all the other production happens in Pro Tools. What I would like to do is be able to make , 8 bar loop sequences and just explode the drums that make up each track individually. When I explode a track it does not separate each mid note on the grid with the various individual pad assignments as separate tracks it only explodes on a global track basis. I would love to know how to do this. thank you and thnx for the useful videos!

What's going on Da Drink King. I have a couple questions. Say that I just want to mix and master on an mpc itself, and transfer my beat with the stems/tracks right into the computer, instead of any daw, in order to sell online? Basically, I do not want to use a daw whatsoever. I just want to be able to export the tracks and stems from my beat right into the computer to upload them to a beat selling website? How would you do that without using a daw? Can't you do all of this levelling and db stuff on an mpc one or live itself? There's got to be a way, it wouldn't be stand alone otherwise. Why do you do it this way, like why do you have to put the stems and tracks into your daw? I don't understand this. Do you have another video that explains this better or shows you another way, because I thought that you could do all of this in the mpc's themselves? To anyone who has any feedback, Thanks.
@DaDrankKang4 жыл бұрын
Research song mode in the mpc software. You can turn your sequences into full songs. No one said this is the way you must do it. You search what you feel Is good for you. For me and my business I record artist and prep projects to send to labels for their artist. So I would rather use a DAW. My DAW powers all my Studios not the mpc. I am not just a producer. I am an audio Engineer so I use a DAW for all my final work. If you want to keep your tracks in the MPC then get the workflow down and learn. 👍🏾 tracks to sequences sequences to song in song mode. It's a bit limited but you can still work with it. As for mixing you have 4 slots on every track for FX. If you can get your mixing done with that then do it 👍🏾 . Mastering I dont do on beats. Makes no sense to master a beat and my artist or the label artist is not on it yet.

I have all my drums programmed on 1 track but I route my kick to submix 1. However, when I explode the drums to different tracks and export the stems, the kick wave file is blank and I’ll have to go back and route it to the program again. Can you explain why?
@DaDrankKang Жыл бұрын
You are routing it back to the muted drum track when using a submix for this. Your drums are already routed to individual pad channels for processing. No need to use a submix unless you plan on bouncing your kick out to a new sound before rendering. 👍🏾

Can you export a track you worked on in the MPC hardware in “standalone mode” directly into the MPC 2.0 software? Can the software detect projects on your hardware?
@Marleyblaq2 жыл бұрын
Your question is confusing. of course it can detect projects on your hardware, just connect it up to your computer and save your tracks or project on the hardware or make a folder on your computer. Standalone means your not using the MPC as a plugin. Only if you create a Midi Track on your (Protools) or any DAW of your choosing. Is then your MPC will work as a plugin. Also the Principle's are the same, you can create a project just as you would on Standalone Mode..

@DaDrankKang5 жыл бұрын
The mpc does export midi. If you research "mpc drag and drop" feature you will see how to export midi or audio directly from any track. It's 2 small buttons above the time line on the right side for audio or midi. Go to the track you want to export hit the button it will light up then click the button again and hold it while dragging to your desktop or any folder. It's like a quick export feature for any track. If it's midi you are exporting then when you drag it to your daw your will need to load the exact same vst for the midi to play the same sound in your DAW. If it's audio then just drag and drop it to your DAW.

@@DaDrankKang Great video,I opened my MPC in my Daw while in Controller Mode,it would not record any audio out the MPC. What have I got wrong?

@@yahslimitlessvisionoftruth3336 could be 10 different things wrong. Audio interface... using the wrong sound card on mpc ... not routed correctly... that's too vague of a problem to know exactly what's wrong.

Thanks for the post Obsure and thanks for the video and reply DA Drank Kang Here's what I got going on. I have Cubase Elements 8 DAW it has the things MPC Software doesn't and the MPC has what Elements doesn't and I want to integrate them, (I love the feel and freedom that comes with the MPC Live and I love the Sound Design and Extra I can achive with the DAW without buying extra stuff) So to use the Live within Cubase I need to go via midi into it which will allow me to still have the creative freedom and control that the MPC produces, Am I correct on that? I was using the MPC as the Auto interface(my current Computer is having issues with all my upgrades MPC Software, Windows 10 and my Interface. This Computer will become the back up to New One that's on the way. Oh yeah thanks for that info u you mentioned during one of your question and answer videos bout the gaming laptops as a way for Music Production) and trying to get to the 808 expansion to use it and the MPC Pads. Tell me if I'm correct I can achive this by running my MPC as midi via a Auto Interface?

@@yahslimitlessvisionoftruth3336 if you want to combine both DAW and MPC and your reason is because of the features both have then you may want to look into using the MPC software as a VST inside your DAW. Routing midi is for way more complicated things that people try and accomplish. And it can not be explained in a message. I would have to see your set up... your system and what you are getting done as there are several ways to do this. But again for your specific reason ... using midi routing would accomplish what you need but is not necessary. You can have both DAW and MPC features using the MPC software as a VST inside the DAW. To record audio you would have to route your mpc tracks to your daw tracks. Now you can record anything coming from the mpc to your DAW. Or you can record directly to the mpc software or directly to the DAW software as normal. You may do better hitting up an mpc forum. That way someone can take your task on specifically and work with you to get it done. You dont see me routing midi or doing any of that in my videos. I keep it simple and use the mpc for what it was made for specifically. That's to make beats. The other functions are cool to have but if I want to do any sound design or anything like that I use my DAW.

If only KZbinrs would get to the damn point. There's several videos on this and every single one is over 10 minutes long when it realistically takes only 60 seconds to show us how to track out from MPC.

Then you should make the 60 second video and stop complaining about other people's channels. 👍🏾
