How To Make A 9 inch Disc Sander || Replaceable velcro Disc || Tilting Work Surface

Disc sanders are extremely useful tools in workshop used for rough shaping wood. I already made disc sanders in the past, but this was different. Most did not include a tilting work surface. This was a great design challenge that turned out better than I could have hoped!

You should sand on the left side of the disk where the work is held in place on the table.. If you sand on the right side the work is lifted off the table and sanding metal you will get sparks in your face and eyes. Lovely sturdy construction and project. Well done.

This is actually a really nice build. The only thing i would have included would be a miter slot on the table so you can set the angle to the sanding plate. Other than that, I don't think you could ask for too much more.

Beautiful! I found a motor on a shelf while cleaning my dad's shop after he passed. He was a machinist. I was law enforcement. I didn't know what to do with it. Now, I do since wood is my passion. Thank you. One thought; velcro loses its grip characteristic in short order and must be replaced on that wood disk. Sticky back sandpaper easier to replace then velcro hook after super gluing it on. Just a thot.

I like this build very much. How ever add couple more thicknesses of plywood to the back side of disk, machine these layers to be concentric, add a strip of leather around the new layers. Apply polishing compound to the leather, and wall-lie!!! sharpen your tools to scary sharp.

Hi MYSTERY MAKE TOOLS Kindly make Filing & Rasping Tool for Filing metal slots , sliding grooves channel, in such a way that we can attach any shape and size File , rasp to it.
