Yuzo Koshiro is a mastercomposer and a genius, somehow his tracks make sense with its given title. Logical.

@@madhatter8508 Nah, as @relu419 mentions, he was influenced by the Spaghetti-Disco and the Hi-Energy which were the rage across most of the 80s. The game was released in Japan on 1990.

It's Eurobeat, a subgenre of Italo-disco (almost all Italo since 1988 is Eurobeat) where it is mixed with Hi-NRG. The way Eurobeat is known from Initial D is a very-very late variation of it, a very distant descendant. If Misty Blue sounded like 100% Fred Ventura, then this track sounds more like some Mauro Farina tracks (see "Mark Farina - Gunfire" or "Moltocarina - Voice Of The Night"). It may be possible to recall some closer equivalent, but I cannot. =/ P.S. But in general, yes, it is wildly similar to the Russian "Mirazh" (Мираж), lol. This is the closest analogue.

You will probably never read this but one of Koshiro skills is to using catchy simple beats and make them sound awesome with his magic, which is very hard in music world

On top of being an excellent composer, he has an intimate understanding of the chips he works with and he very carefully programs the FM instruments to sound their best.
