I’m always so hesitant to travel with friends. I don’t have any vegan friends, and I don’t want to feel like a burden when trying to find a place to eat at the travel destination. I’ll definitely have to follow your rule and only travel with those who I am closest with (aka my mom LOL)

Traveling with mom can be fun~ I believe true friends will always put your diet restriction into consideration. Every time I'm traveling to visit any of my childhood friends who are not vegan, they always stock up some plant based stuff in the fridge. They would also prepare a list of veg-friendly restaurants and cafes to take me to 🥰

I hope you still had a good time in Japan despite what happened. I too had something similar to me happen when I traveled to Japan with a friend as well! I always wanted to go but was not allowed to go alone and this being my first trip there I thought it was fine to go with my other friend. I planned so much for the trip and prepared for it, but it felt like my friend was tagging along. So I thought fine, they wanted to experience the trip without thinking too much, but we had some times where they would complain about things that were out of our control. They even got homesick so soon. It was only a two week trip. It got bad enough that after that trip I never wanted to travel with them again. Travel comes with different experiences and changes and lots of elements out of your control, but I would rather deal with those solo than with someone else who could not handle the basic things of travel.

I also lost a friend recently due to bad communication, but I say to myself if the person like you they won't be mad for nothing or over some petty things...After apologizing several times with no answer I am done. I hope you find or keep better friends to travel in the future!

I had the same experience. I travelled with someone who's from the same Kpop fandom as I am and we met each other online. We planned the trip around our group's activities mostly. Out of the 7 days we traveled, we dined thrice at a vegan restaurant but two out of those I could tell she was not happy. I shouldered the bill so she wouldn't feel as bad. I told her, we can go separate ways next time so she can do and eat what she wants. Maybe because she's scared to be on her own, she ended up sticking with me throughout anyway. She woke up late everyday which meant we lost a large part of the day. She was also pretty slow in many aspects - walking, comprehension (like I would ask her a simple question and she would stare at me blankly for several seconds. Sometimes she would reply, other times she didn't. It was like talking to a wall). I also learned that she's not as invested in our fave group anymore because in one of the member's (solo non-idol) activity, I caught her sleeping through the performance. When we bade goodbye to each other at the airport, I was sure we weren't going to speak with each other again. And indeed we have not.

I guess it depends the city you’re in. I use Happy Cow and so far I have no problem finding vegan food at major cities like Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto~

Thanks for being a long time watcher. I'm genuinely asking, what's wrong with sharing what exactly happened, how I truly felt at the moment and the lessons I learned in a video diary? I made sure to remove the person's face out of the frame. Small and big content creators talk about conflicts/drama/break up stories all the time across social media platforms. I'm pretty sure I said "I won't allow myself to date broke guys anymore"...it's because I did and ended up being taken advantage of 😅. I honestly don't see anything wrong with saying that. A lot of advice gurus/influencers preach about that. For example, thewizardliz literally has a video titled "stop dating broke guys" with over 1M views...

@Misus Yaya thanks for your reply, admittedly I'm usually a youtube shadow rather than commenting, and always look forward to your travel videos, the thing that bothers me I suppose is the diary aspect of it, normally I watch to see the exciting places you visit and the food you order. For example I tend to only watch your food blog style videos, I wouldn't be interested in break ups/drama. Obviously it is your channel to create the kind of content you want to make.
