Cough, cough. The skylines were added to the rings relatively recently. The "turning the ring around" tradition came from the idea that when you're an undergrad, when the beaver does what bears do in the woods, it lands on you, but when you graduate, well, it doesn't anymore (that's about as nicely as I can put it). Also, the ring committee used to have 9 members, a Tolkien joke. Traditions change and evolve over time, of course.
@rsilvers1295 жыл бұрын
They know, of course, but it is not supposed to be said. Those who know are supposed to keep it a secret. Maybe delete this.
@Mamolax35 жыл бұрын
Yes, the saying was that before graduation the beaver s--ts on you, and after graduation it s--ts on everyone else. I don't know exactly when they added the Boston and Cambridge skylines to the Brass Rat (or the Silver Squirrel, if you ordered a silver version), but they weren't on the rings of those of us who attended MIT in the 1970s.

alright 2seconds into this video, i can tell you guys need onyx or onyex in those rings, its avery important part to metals.. if there truly made of brass, your going to want some rubber or plastic material on them, alomst like stick on stuff . Brass is made to be in your pocket, on your finger its a little much, if your gonna go with brass you want something kinda heavy, aluiminum is better often, there many different combinations... but let me tell you this... Honestly, onxys, gold metal and silver... thats like a processor,, MIT you know how you guys do machine learning, maybe lace up a computer you use or the pentium thingy in it that makes it "think" so to speak, a onxy ring with gold an silver, an your choosing of emblem or whatever shape on it. This what you do, you buy a metal ring a "platform" put on you finger or thumb for awhile, look at or play with, decide or feel what you want on it...how you want it made.. Remeber this ring can do whatever you want it to, you building it, 200bucks you can get a pretty cool on made, shit ive yet to seen a chick with one, its kinda a all dude thing only in the past. But anyways, if your wonder why you see some people with a big ass ring that black in it or gold or you notice it. ( might be a lawyer, or attorney or something else maybe a grandfather)... " if your Wondering or notice it to remeber it, that means its working" it worked on you, its on you so to speak. top secret? hint hint Tin can be pretty cool, you gotta put it together with right thing TGB the way i mean it

PLEASE ANSWER TO MY QUESTIONS. Hi, I am Edgar Stepanyan. I have several question about MIT (for starting my learning for quiz of MIT I have several question) ahead thank you. About me I was born in 1998. I have already gotten my studying in Politecnical University of Armenia in underaduation in an unit of mashinmaking. I learn excelent and i am getting ready to come to MIT as a satudnet Questions I do not have so much money for learning there in that form. I mostly would like to learn full free (will be a bit worse while I will start to have a job near MIT for peymant for studying). I would like to know whot exame I mast hand, whot result I must have in appraisal and where I must hand that the exame for free learning (for example I prafer in Armenia where there are two international centers for such exams). Now my goul is to be a student in graduation of MIT but full free and not to have leak of time on undergraduation. And whether there is an restriction about age of a student (what is a years old I must have). IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR MY PLEASE ANSWER TO MY QUESTIONS.

So you give young ppl freedom to design their rings, and, judging from what you showed, they made the blandest designs imaginable? And you they wear these cringe-ass jackets, to make them full of themselves? I'm just salty, bc bald piece of work in charge of my country decided what I can't have one of these anymore. Jackets are still cringe though

MIT barely puts any weight into legacy and has a need-blind application. Students are there based on their own merits.
@theEVILonionRAT Жыл бұрын
@@Mainline100 yea. MIT is probably one of the only schools that still do that. Anymore, schools like Harvard focus too much on diversity (which is not necessarily a bad thing, but not good when merit is completely forgotten about) and legacy.

MIT needs to do what everyone expects it to do, and also handle employment. If they're all so pro-talent, they should be putting the talent to good use themselves, creating products, having a research and manufacturing facility on-site. Evolve into a skyscraper MIT, maybe even dig down-ward and make a bunker to preserve everything important. But do they do that? No. Because they just care about selling worthless educations and overhype it. :T
