Term limits! Noone in congress has the guts to introduce a bill into law to make this happen.
@jamesbraun9842
@jamesbraun9842 9 ай бұрын
The idea was thrown around a few years ago. (Something like 3 senate terms and 4 house terms). Looked like it would go to the floor and had support until the senators running for a 3rd + term and congress persons running for 4+ terms realized it meant they were effectively ending their career. Everyone else realized it meant they wouldn't be allowed to run for more terms and eventually support for the bill died out.

@SolaceEasy Not sure of the person who originally said the idea but do remember ,Trumps right Hand aka Ted Cruz said he'd consider term limits for house and senate members if he was elected president during a Q&A which was than mentioned in a blurb on Fox News ,(at the time when Fox News was still Luke Warm on Trump so it had raised heads.)

He declared that Trump was responsible for Jan 6. Yet he voted to NOT impeach Trump. What moral (or lack of) position does this man stand?

@@jamesbraun9842Except that it's not impossible to impeach a private citizen, and the vote took place before Trump was out of office, and it could have solved a lot of problems if he'd voted with honor instead of for party.

Be honest, do you think that if roles were reversed Obama was a republican and mitch was a Democrat, would you call him shimmy for blocking the Supreme Court nomination. Your just upset that he pulled it off any the democrats couldn't.
@willishere321
@willishere321 8 ай бұрын
@@johnnyrocket9372Yes, I definitely would. I’ll never forget hearing his reasoning for not confirming Garland. It was absurd, unpatriotic, and absent of integrity. Regardless of which party it happened to, the issue is that he unilaterally deprived the people of their voices with his actions. Obama was elected, and with that election came the right (or rather the obligation) to ensure any vacancies on the court be filled. Mitch did something unprecedented and will be a stain in American history.

McConnell must love China, look at his wife Elaine Chao. "Elaine Chao has deep business ties to China at time of US-Chinese competition."--New York Times "Elaine Chao, who has garnered popularity in China as the first Chinese-American to become a US cabinet secretary"--CNN btw, Elaine Chao's father was a university classmate of the late Chinese President Jiang Zemin.
