Actually I would have to disagree. Harvard and Stanford are #1 and #2. Princeton is #3. During my time in high school and during my sons time in high school it is well known that Harvard and Stanford are at the top. Prestige and name recognition and it you look at the areas where they are located one is Silicon Valley Bay Area and the other is the Boston region . And the number of presidents and ceos and inventors and Nobel prize awarded. There’s no comparison. Harvard and Stanford are on any entire league of their own. In fact choose 5,000 of the top students in America each year. Let them choose between Harvard and Stanford and Princeton. Harvard and Stanford each will get way way way more students choosing.

In my opinion, Harvard is well known for it's law, business, graduate schools etc but Princeton usually gets ranked as the #1 school for undergrad because it focuses all of it's resources, best faculty members and large endowment towards only the undergrad education whereas Harvard is focused on maintaining a strong undergraduate program as well as it's various prestigious graduate schools. Also, Herbert Hoover is surprisingly the only US president who attended Stanford whereas James Madison, Woodrow Wilson and JFK (partially) attended Princeton. Obviously all the institutions are great and I'd be more than happy if I could get into any one of the 3 haha
