Question Would a mandolin chord book help? Thanks Mrs Sheridan Sometimes after playing chords I find my single note are doubled I play 2 strings not sure if I should wait to learn chords. Any tricks to go back to single notes ? I switch from folk to classical to broadway tunes and Christmas songs

Mitch is that fiddle tuned up or down , please name the stings for both and are the chords played the same way on both tuned up and tuned down ?

Good questions! Just about all my videos are in Cajun tuning (DGCF), which is one whole step down from Standard tuning (EADG). Check out my post called "Talk About Cajun Tuning" for more on that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHS6pqinityWoaM. I also have chord chart at mitchreedmusiclessons.com/fiddle-chord-charts/. If you're tuned Cajun these are the chords you'll want to use. They have the same shapes but different names tuned up to Standard or down to Cajun. For example an A tuned Standard is a G tuned Cajun. Same shape, different name.

One more thing! Check out my video called Seconding at a Cajun Jam: kzbin.info/www/bejne/npXUi6CblKdspKM. There's lots of info on chords.

Hi! What was the name of the album you listened to as a kid? I couldn't quite understand. Thanks! Lots of great tips for an adult beginner!
@MitchReedMusicLessons6 жыл бұрын
rebecadhernandez Hey Rebecca! I don’t remember the exact name of the record, but the two artists names were Octa Clark and Hector Duhon. If you can get a hold of their tracks, you won’t be disappointed. Arrête pas la musique!
