I love you are as gaga over snow as I am🌨️ I grew up in Mississippi. We were brought up revering snow. We used to have more predictable seasons. Different now. We had a decent amount of snow when I was growing up. My parents would always excitedly say "look kids it's snowing" it's so nice to see you are raising your kids in the same tradition☃️⛷️❄️

Happy New Years to Mitch and all. Here in Northern Maine we're seeing the only 2nd New Years day without at least a trace of snow on the ground in Caribou since records began. Today we're expected to see rain or snow move in from the south early this afternoon snowfall will be highly elevation dependent as temps will be slightly above freezing when the precip moves in. So far every winter since 2020 - 21 has been quite mild especially snowfall wise 2021-22 was a bit colder and last winter 2023-24 was the mildest. I moved up here with my family in mid 2016 from the Outer Banks of North Carolina when I was in 2nd grade. I remember the first 4 winters we lived up here being more severe especially snowfall wise but i didn't start really paying attention to the weather until the winter of 2020-21

As much I would love to have snow here in East Tennessee, I do pray that it stays away and the cold. There's a large number of homeless and not enough resources to keep them out of the elements. 😢

I hope for snow in central Georgia. We had 18 inches of snow in 1973. I had a 6 ft snow drift that ran the length of my backyard and I made a tunnel. I would love for my grandkids to have that opportunity

You have been a life saver for me as I travel from Ky to NC and SC for work, I have traveled in to Hurricanes Helene and Debbie. This trip that I am making while this happing has me more worried! I am driving from Bowling Green, Ky to Winston Salem this week and I don't do winter/ice/snow. Pray that I make it safely and this project is not impacted too much as I am ready to be home for a while!

Seems anytime we get any moisture or a low off our east coast (NC) that’s when we get some significant snow. That is if the environment is ripe for snow obviously. I don’t expect much from the 6-7th event for NC/SC but it’s always possible that the next one could possibly be the one to watch for it the environment is favorable as that low is off the coast. (If the timing is right too) Man, there’s so many “ifs”. 😆 But I want some snow here in southeast NC. I’m tired of ice. I can’t play on ice and that creates tons of power outages.

That freezing rain profile is way too wide in the Ohio Valley. Mid-range models have a hard time with precept type. Hopefully the NAM we'll get some better clarification on these freezing rain and sleet profiles. I can guarantee you all of Kentucky is not going to be under an ice storm
