Mite Resistance Part 1 -- I'm not going to treat some of my bees!

We are running a very small test of 20 honeybee colonies to explore future options for drone yard or breeding genetics using varroa mite resistant queens from several sources. This does not mean we are getting rid of our VSH Carniolan from VP Queens, but we will look at Pol-line, Harbo, Randy Oliver (Golden West), and Purdue Mite Biter lines. We will look at overall performance, mite counts, UBeeO tests, and Harbo assays during this multi-year evaluation. Next year we will expand the sample size based on the early results.
