Your positive attitude is a joy to watch. I have learned a lot about design and gardening from you.

Hi Danielle, I love the hummingbird fence, so sorry about the loss of the bushes, the new ones you just planted will be beautiful! great idea to plant them inside the fenced in area. I am happy to see you are dividing and shifting the existing plants to the other side of the garden to save money and use what you already have instead of an insta garden. I understand the frustration of not having everything just right but it's nature and it isn't perfect!! you've done an amazing job in your yard to make it a haven for you and your family, keep up your positive attitude, we appreciate your honesty and appreciate all your gardening experience and advice as well as all your tutorials, it is a pleasure to see your videos. 😍

Great plan! I have a ' Korean Spice' viburnum I planted years ago and it is my ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE shrub every spring. The fragrance is soooo lovely and soooo me! I make everyone who comes smell it, save the blossoms for their heavenly scent, and wish I had about 100 of them! ❤❤❤ Each spring I walk around it and love when a gentle breeze carries that gorgeous smell to me. My husband passed away early May this year 😢, and when they bloomed I saved some blossoms in a little medicine cup. They dried & still retain their scent....I sniff them often 💞. Wish I could make a perfume from them, I would wear it all the time! Thank you for your wonderful videos and for sharing all your experiences & experiments ❤!!!

I’m so glad that you are comfortable sharing both your successes as well as less successful projects. Gardening has many unforeseen variables and it can be really inspiring to watch and learn how to pivot when things don’t go according to plan-because it happens to all of us!

I enjoy and learn so much from your thought process in your garden. Gardening is a big experiment and it is sad to lose plants but being curious - as gardeners are - helps us grow as gardeners and try new things. And now you have a hummingbird border in front of the arborvitae for more plants.

Thanks for this! I learned I’m not the only one trying to build a screen along a pretty lengthy front. And you’re trying different varietals too! Maybe I’m not crazy😂. It got me out there to plant a few this morning. Two more tomorrow and I’m done for the season.

Good Morning. I can't wait to see that hedge grow up! I truly love your garden style! Would you have any suggestions for Evergreen plants that are taller than wide, but 6' tall or so? I would like to use them as a screen to cover our compost pile. They flank the back of my fenced in garden so I would need them to not be too big around. I would love for them to be soft so I could cut from them for floral designs. Any thoughts, zone 7a? Thank you!

Hi Suzanne! Yew comes to mind. You can maintain that at 6 feet and it’s soft ❤️

@NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens3 ай бұрын
Hi Annette! I’m not sure if they sell the hummingbird ones anymore, but here is a similar butterfly trellis - amzn.to/4eCKLqN They are zip tied together with a post every five trellises.

Would you like an auger to help save your back? Maybe your soil is so soft you don't need one. Beautiful hedge. I also watch Laura of Garden Answer and they use augers.❤❤❤

Frankly, your old emerald greens don't look like they were doing too well anyway...almost like they were growing in the shade. I used them in my last house and all were dense/thick from the ground to the tips even though they were in half shade. I'm in Ca and I'm getting ready to plant them again but since nurseries don't carry them I'll need to order n them online and have them shipped.
