Thanks for taking the time to make these! If you're open to critiques, I'd suggest giving your text a black outline. The pure white text can be a little hard to read at times. I think a black outline would help differentiate it from the background.

You should use a board to ensure your square is leveled along the horizontal plane. The back end of the square is not at the same height as the front or furthest point from the fence.

The large triangle with the lip could be providing a false reading on true square.

Great video. I have what I beleive to be an impossible to solve alignment error. My 0 degrees is dead on now after sliding the scale. But my 45 degree detents measure 45.1 degrees on left-side and 45.4 on the right-side. Since they are both greater than 45 degrees, AND the zero degrees is perfect, it seems that nothing can be done. And what kind of Saw is it? Ridgid 10", $400. I do interior finishing work and this won't cut it.

How do you fix the blade thats not centered between the kerf plate? It closer to the left side

Ok. I haven't seen all your miter saw adjustment videos yet, but why adjust the detent plate and not the fence? Are you keeping the fence positioned all the way forward (or back) in it's adjustment slots? Which is assuming that was machined coplanar when the base was manufactured.

@@soaren723 I have one of these saws now, and I can see that loosening and adjusting the detent plate is much easier than moving and re-tightening the fence. The way miter saw fences (most brands, I guess) attach to the base means there's always a potential for movement at your "fixed" pivot since it has to be somewhat loose to allow the adjustment in the first place.

I unfortunately had my miter saw fall down and now when I make a bevel cut the cut towards the end of the board (furthest from the fence) isn’t square to the fence and the rest of the cut. This is even more noticeable when doing a long bevel cut. I’m not certain if that means the rails are bent or whatever else could be wrong. I’ve adjusted everything I can and have gotten it to cut much better than when it fell, but the problem still persists. Any idea what it can be?

my Ridgid miter saw needs the fence adjusted by way of 4 bolts. It's a P.I.A. Im considering drilling out my fixed detent plate and adding 4 bolts. That way I can lock the detent plate, lock the fence to close to 90 as possible then make all my adjustments to the detent plate. Anyone want to give me your thoughts on this? Anyone ever did this?

Wish I had money for a Dewalt. My Kobalt's saw blade is not in parallel with the sliding rails themselves. And there's no adjustment
