Glad to have you back, seems you've done good progress since your last video. Just like you pointed out "self learning" how to draw can be tough cause it's hard to find the answers you need, one time I asked Steven Zapata during one of his live streams about which method I should use to draw faces? Loomis? Reilly? Block in? he told me that there isn't a good or bad method for drawing faces, they are just different tools so if one fits you better use it. Ever since I try to explore and try many different methods of doing things and going with what feels more comfortable in order to focus on learning instead of whether or not I picked the right method.

Hey Mith! I hope I'm not overstepping when I say this -but are you still doing Evolve? I was fervently following your journey all the way up till your move. I recall you saying that you were doing a year-long gap to pursue learning art and that you were going to make content for them. Of course you don't need to tell us the whole story, but I assume there was a falling out sort of thing. I was interested in the program to see your end results (so I can evaluate whether or not it was worth it for me). Anyway, I'm glad you seem to be happy albeit returning to work earlier than planned. And I'm still enjoying watching content from you about anything

It was interesting to see the progress from a course Ive never heard of vs the typical internet regurgitation of just do drawabox and proko even though Ive never seen anyone become good from doing either(I am not implying they are bad its just I have never seen anyones before and after from completing either). Even something like Don Bluth's school which cost over 10k Ive never seen any results from that class. This is the only case Ive got to see someone making some pretty serious progress at something specifically.

@@kamaria4751 Perfectly said. I think when you have the freedom to study art full time, you can afford to be a bit scattered. I don't have that luxury. Folks who can't see the prize in the end with Evolve are blind.

Hi Mithrilda, it looks like you haven't been active in a while so I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I'm just wondering after your experience with Evolve, if you think the course can lead to someone being able to paint from imagination after all? I know that was one of your big questions throughout the program.

I dont think she will answer you because she might have quit art, but based on analyzing her progress honestly I don't think Evolve helped her very much compared to other ateliers out there like Watts atelier

@@LeoneDeloris4730i thought it was just me. I was looking through her more advanced works and for the results that evolve was promising, they didn’t match up. Even other students who are on block 8, and even the work of some of the instructors isn’t super impressive compared to an atelier level work. The thing is, sure evolve Can show you how to paint “fast”, but going through some students work shows that the results aren’t consistent in my opinion. I feel like they put so much emphasis on getting results quickly that they’re speeding through ACTUAL fundamentals, and don’t even cover drawing. The work the students produce is certainly better than when they first stared, but definitely could be a lot better if they had started off somewhere more rigorous IMO. I’m also not a fan of the fact that they have you start off tracing, and you even trace some more advanced paintings instead of drawing it yourself

Like there are no free painting tutorials on KZbin!?? If you watch plenty of free KZbin paintings courses and didn’t help you out! Then don’t expect much from Evolve! Lol. And yeah Mithrilda supports Evolve, saw her reaction to the comment about it

@@LeoneDeloris4730 He's saying there's a chance they died, but the fact is that for someone who is thin, the odds of dying from what's essentially the flu is infinitesimally small. She mentioned that she got a job and felt she had little time to make videos, and was only doing art for an hour a day. Sounds like she's just busy and there's a good chance she felt like the channel wasn't worth coming back to as it was never especially big.

Good to see you stepping beyond evolve to do other classes. This will take time, be patient though, drawing is not simple. It takes experience to really get it, but this class is a good start. Evolve teaches you to paint really well. As long as you have a reference, the moment you don’t you’re in trouble. Thats it’s weakness, i wish they would be more forward with it but the reality is evolve students have a lot more to learn post evolve. Especially in drawing, even in painting. I finished the first half, now im in the advanced program which takes even more time and effort so it;smslow going.

I've really been enjoying Brainstorm! It's nice to be studying alongside people who are taking the class just as seriously as I am (as opposed to college where C's get degrees lol). And it's also great to be able to ask for help immediately (or at least within a week or less) and get demonstrations and examples and stuff.

The funny part is, all these skills will be replaced by DALL*E and AI. Hand painting a picture will still be valuable though.
