Doug's question: when i was doing my animal care course in college, there were a couple rats, however, i distinctly remember one called Gizmo who was an absolute UNIT. This man was probably the size of two rats. A truly rotund lad. He was overweight bless him but he was the sweetest rat there and he'd snuggle into my neck when i would health check him. Doug, the biggest rat I ever saw was probably 9 inches long in the wild. It was so well endowed that it's "pouch" dragged behind him as he ran away. It was a terrifying experience since I saw it in my grandma's house after dark.
