Genomics is increasingly becoming part of everyday clinical practice in acute hospitals and elsewhere. Over the coming years critical care physicians will encounter developments in innovative diagnostics and treatments based on genomics and to remain relevant a basic understanding of some theoretical aspects will be necessary. A series of eight short (20 minute) visual presentations has been created by the Genomics Research team from the Department of Intensive Care Medicine at Nepean Hospital, Sydney. It is designed as an introduction to selected aspects of genomics, not intending to cover everything in the field (which in becoming huge) but rather to give a background to more commonly encountered
parts in patient care.
The series has been made possible by an Educational Grant kindly donated by Pfizer Pty Ltd.
