So don't mind me describing my story in this reply because I don't have anyone to tell this story to so hehe She is an hopeless romantic who really loves him with all her heart but he is an anti romantic. Despite being married for so many years he has never shown any affection to her. It's almost as if he only married her because he wanted a heir to his family company. This song makes me think of a toxic relationship because like "I am the idiot with a painted face, in the corner taking up space. But when he walks in, I am loved." Sounds like something a toxic partner will convince their partner so they rely on them for validation. And "its always been just me and him together" makes me think of when a toxic partner will isolate their partner from everyone and convince them that they're all against them. There just seems to be a lot of language that reminds me of the relationship I in where I had very similar thinking, and it was NOT a good relationship. What I see is that the wife is scared to lose her "everything" (HUSBAND) The husband is protective because he knows the wife is scared to lose him and always checks up on her and himself so he wouldn't lose her too, they are nothing without eachother and both of them know it. [Really basic and short sorry] (Mention of abuse) 2.) Its abusive and manipulative. The husband abuses the wife (mentally) until she is weak and vulnerable, if she leaves him, she is 'nothing' like at the start of the song.
