As someone who is in their 40S and listening to mitski I relate because I was born half Asian half white it was hard because I couldn't pick a side people assume your one or the other until I was older I had to understand it doesn't matter how white/black/spanish/asian you are you shouldn't have to degrade yourself about your skin because at the end of the day we all on the inside are beautiful beings.

for you is it the wish to be normal? as a non binary lesbian i thought i never cared for "being normal" but once ive gotten older and real life hits me, it's gotten harder to want to be unique, especially being vietnamese (because our culture is so traditional in terms of gender binary). my dad wants to wed me to a man and someday he will whether i like it or not, so i cant help feeling the grief to be normal and live a life that im expected to live, especially just to seek the approval of men (my dad and my potential suiter and society as i was always undesirable)
