Mitsubishi Elevators - Gurney Plaza, George Town, PNG, MY

One of the public elevators in the older part of the mall. These are some typical Mitsubishi GPS elevators from the 1990s, and since this mall was completed in the very early 2000s then these can be considered as one of the last Mitsubishi GPS installations before the model was discontinued (its successor was the GPS-III, which is essentially an improvement of GPS/GPS-II). Interestingly they use the unique 4-tone chimes rather than the standard chime, which sound different depending on the direction the elevator is travelling.

Wait...if this is GPS, can you give me any example of GPS-II installations? Speaking of the chime, the only place in Jogja that has this chime are the Mitsubishis at the Panti Rapih hospital (mixed up with the standard 2-tone chime, the rare 2-tone OEK-like chime, and the 1-tone chime). Sadly they have installed stickers prohibiting photography in the hospital.

Simple, those with more than 1000 kilogams (up to 1350 kilograms) capacity are considered GPS-II. GPS's maximum capacity is only 1000 kilograms.

@PL1Lifts Yes indeed, both GPS and GPS-II share the same fixtures. Singpost Centre's lifts could be GPM, because as far as I know only GPM lifts use those indicators.

Nevermind, Siam Discovery's lifts also use those indicators so maybe they could also be used on GPS-II lifts.
