I have and they cannot provide a demo. Only the paid license. I have tried without a license but VNC just shows connecting.... and does not ask me for the password or view the screen

We did run without a license and it looks like you can test VNC once after the GOT terminal is rebooted. On the next VNC access screen is blank.

Yes. There is a demo licence inside GOT HMI. it will run for 30mins per slot and after that blank screen will appear. you need to reboot the HMI again. This is a demo licence, hence it has a limitation of up to 15 hours of use or 30 times login attempts. Please make sure that you need to use specified VNC software like Ultra VNC Viewer only for PC or Laptop
