Do you know if the Intelli-heat system qualifies for that new tax credit? I just got a 3 ton system with a 96% Rheem furnace retrofitted to an older house and was wondering if the system qualifies.

Can’t wait to see part 2! You are the first person to agree with the contractor that installed my intell-Heat system. They made me use the Mitsubishi thermostat(MK-32) also - I hate it! I had the intell-Heat system installed late winter and one thing that I noticed was that the first half winter( last January) it switched over to the gas furnace all the time below roughly 30 degrees. This winter here in Wisconsin we just went through a week of sub-zero temperatures and my gas furnace ran once during that time. Don’t know what changed, but I’m worried about my power bill! It ran a lot. What are your thoughts on that?

It is kind of a thought process if it's in a negative or super cold weather pattern the load is going to be higher if you use gas or electricity. I feel like if you have solar you will save power if not your electrical bill will be higher. However, if you only have gas your gas bill will be higher. I feel like the heat pumps will save you money over time if you have solar or a backup battery system but it's the upfront cost that gets people. One day everyone will have a heat pump. In 2025 Mitsubishi is going to have a negative -32 degree heat pump. The tech is only going to get better. Furnaces are going away faster every year. Thank you for watching Jared

Depends on your area. Here in the southeast you won’t get but 3-5 years out of those copper coils. We have replaced tons of Mitsubishi coils in the last 7-8 years.
