Great video. Question I have a cape cod home and the ceiling is a little over 7.5 feet high would you recommend a floor mounted(even though it’s wall mounted ) mini split or one of the wall mounted one ?

Hello - both are feasible options. Floor mounted units are more common for cape cod 2nd floors due to the graded ceilings. If you have the wall space on the exterior wall then that would work as well.

GS models came out after we made this video. GS are just the replacements for GL. The only difference is they have an anti-corrosion barrier on the coil and they have a new remote controller. Fun news is all these model numbers will change with the new refrigerant change in 2025 so we'll have to redo this video when that change happens.

Maybe a stupid question but does the EF model also have fins that blow air side to side as well as up and down? Looking at having installed in my house and they will have to go into the corner of the room and didnt want the air just blowing into one half of the room. is that a stupid question?

EF does not have side by side capability. It has similar functionality to the GS (GS is the new GL) models. It is not a stupid question! Air will definitely circulate as long as the room is open.

What's the difference between the MSZ-HM model and the MSZ-GS model at 9k?

HM model is the 20 seer single zone only line. Not very popular across the entirety of the US. The GS model is a single and multi zone option. From a single zone application it is extremely efficient (25+ seer2 rating). Hope that helps.

WR is a single zone only wall mounted unit. Technically there is also a JP indoor unit but that is also single zone only. We really just covered the most popular single/multi zone options.

What about the Mr. Slim series? Im looking at the GS series unit for 18k btu single zone for cooling/heat but don’t like the large footprint of the GS condenser’s height (35”). How does the Mr Slim series compare with the GS? Thanks!

It depends on what you need. Most wall mounted units range from $400-800. However, you need to connect it to an outdoor unit which can ranges from $800-1000.
