Drove an 88 montero when I was 18 and thr 4 cylinder blew up. Sold it to a buddys dad and just bought it back 10 years later. He has since swapped it to a japanese 2.5L cyclone diesel imported. Gonna be a life long vehicle now

Looking forward to the next video to see the electrical installation and see how the differentials feel. I think the ratio for gasoline is different than for diesel because of the engine revolutions. But here we are all learning. Thank you very much for sharing your experiences that enriches us all. Keep updating.

The electrical is very easy, only a few wires to hook up. I am also curious about how it feels on the road with the 4.6 gears. The pajeros with this engine had 4.875 gears so I think it will be alright! Thanks for watching!

Nice! Yeah it has been pretty rough getting things shipped to me, I am still waiting on a couple of parts before it is ready to run. Next video will show what wiring you need to get it running!

I have always wanted to do a 4m40 or a 2.8l turbo diesel in to a 1st gen

That would be killer! Thinking of building this 4d55 into a 4d56 in the future. But we will see how it feels first! Thanks for watching!

Does to oil pick up tube clear the crankshaft?

Yes it clears the crank. That would have been a big mistake if it didn't! Haha. Thanks for watching
