Could try putting a mityvac on the pipes to the dpf to see if there’s a slight restriction in the pipes themselves clogged up with soot. Also measure the pressure directly on the pipes to confirm your readings are correct 🤷‍♂️ nothing worse tackling something with half the story and after someone else has been fiddling

Sandy stick some wynns off car dpf cleaner down the pressure sensor tube, I had a b class 1.5 diesel that would barely even start and after a few flushes with that stuff it dropped the pressure from 500mbar to 7mbar Excellent stuff and less than 30 quid from amazon !

Will try this stuff next time, have any experience of the Launch DPF cleaner?

@@sandyande I have not tried the launch stuff yet as i dont get alot of dpf related issues but watching oreillys videos the stuff seems very good, Ive tried the foam cans before and never have they worked for me but the wynns stuff was an eye opener

Don't replace the DPF please, they are always cleanable and there isn't even a need to remove them off the car if using proper method and fluid. First and foremost you need to find the root cause of the DPF blocking, it doesn't just block by itself - under normal conditions and with healthy surrounding a DPF last a really really really long time. Something is wrong around it causing it to fail, this could be stuff like coolant temp not reaching operating temp, exhaust temp, outside temp, intake system issue like pressure, leaks, sensors. Exhaust problems like temp and pressure sensors, EGR. Could be engine like injector etc, you really need to do a thorough check and can't just say it's always the same fault. Only way it would block without other faults present is improper driving conditions such as constant short journeys with no time for a regen and just getting overloaded with soot, this one is rare but if it's the case with this customer then he needs to change car and and driving habits to something like an electric car or best of all choose a bicycle if all you do is drive short shop trips only ;) Correct method and fluid to use is a DPF spray gun with a quality fluid, the best one available is LaunchUK's DPF fluid. Dilute a bottle with 50% water, spray into DPF - let sit for 15 mins - Start engine and let idle briefly before revving up to around 3K and holding it whilst watching differential pressure dropping, once it's finished dropping in around 5 minutes or so you are done. Take it for a test drive. Done. Check out a UK based mobile DPF guy who has DPF faults and cleaning down to a tee with near perfect methodology. @ORileysAutos here on KZbin. Please do a correct diagnosis and clean, save the customers money and don't replace the DPF.

Take dpf off, put in a proper flash cleaning cabinet, with a print out before and after, end of. Stuff the "fix in a can rubbish"

Our machine has cleaned to as new , just over 1100 dpfs! This year alone. Weve had the machine nearly 8 yrs now, it cost 60k new. We clean approximately 2-2500 dpfs a year, at £130 per dpf, that's not including labour to remove and refit, or the diagnostic charge, to reset values etc. The real machines like we have, are costly, but very quickly pay for themselves

@@Rubberdinghyrapids This is not something DIY-able or normal workshop friendly. No DIY-er buys a machine for 60K or no ordinary workshop buys a machine for 60K unless you are specifically specialized in DPF and have a large volume. Don't need to overcomplicate things, I have done over 100 cars with LaunchUK DPF cleaning fluid and they all have like new pressures. Doesn't matter what you use as long as it works, doesn't destroy anything and the customer is happy.
