This theme when it first played truly gave me vibes I was playing an Ogre Battle game! It's been so long since the Wii U when I last played Ogre Battle 64 (to the point I BOOTED the Wii U up after strong arming my baby brother who owned it to let me borrow it again as I only have on HIS Wii U to play it again while I was waiting for this to come out after playing the demo on the Monday of the week it came out!) this assured I got it on release (It's sitting next to my copy of Tactics Ogre Reborn, Fire Emblem Three Houses & Engage, and Triangle Strategy ) I'm a Fire Emblem fan! Loved that series since introduced to it back on the GBA with Blazing Sword (the first one we American's got) and bought EVERY one that came out on their release date (Still miss Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, Ike and Nephenee will ALWAYS be my favorite characters, to the point ANY characters who remind me of them like Mozu, Oboro, Byleth who was PRETTY MUCH inspired by Ike, hell Jeralt is a different flavor of Greil for god sake! and Lapis) It took till Engage for me to get that FEEL I had from Path of Radiance again! I love Fates, and I love Engage, but Fates was prototype Engage and Three Houses was it's own thing that I treat it as it's own thing instead of as a Fire Emblem in general! Like how those who liked Mystic Quest treat it compared to the mainline Final Fantasy games! Or to avoid leaving a BAD example! How Megaten fans that I'm also a fan of love Persona, but still love main SMT and treat them as SEPERATE yet the same! Engage is my favorite Fire Emblem currently because it IS a fire emblem and what got me into the series! Story is average and up to debate, but it's a Fire Emblem game true and true! Hopefully they improve on it and take cues from Three Houses in LORE and I'll agree Engage characters weren't bad by standard FE Secondary characters go! But maybe NOT contain Supports to a SAVE FILE instead of making it a MAIN GAME FILE so people can rewatch how they PLEASE! The My room needs to go if that's what it takes to see what I accomplished in a FULL GAME SYSTEM SAVE if need be) But yeah the music in this game REALLY shows the music team REALLY wanted to make something that would make BOTH Fire Emblem AND Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre fans coming to this game happy and as a fan of BOTH. I say they nailed it 🥰

This is actually the same team that did all the music in the Ogre Battle and tactics ogre games. Basiscape 🙂 They also did all the Ivalice Alliance titles as well (FF tactics, FF 12, Vagrant Story, FFTA, FFTA 2)

@@paulman34340 Also, the publisher, Atlus are the original publishers of Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre before the Tactics Ogre Franchise was kinda passed onto Square enix 🙂

Tactics Ogre SNES/PSX and GBA (the prequel to the events of Tactics Ogre or more the origin story of it's major antagonist that is) were Atlus with it ONLY being SquareEnix around when SNES/PSX got it's PSP remake under them (and then remade again via Reborn on the current gen consoles!) I actually got into the Ogre Series via the PSP remake of Tactics Ogre (And prefer it over the game that it's the DADDY to Final Fantasy Tactics! Storywise FFT is good, gameplay, wasn't a fan, I prefer Tactics Ogre FAR MORE on ALL ground! Though fairness is FFT WAS my first TACTICS, just never beat it as I got it from Blockbuster same time as FF7 which was my first RPG and never beat BOTH, they did get me curious about the genres as a whole with the first ones of both I BEAT being FF9 and Fire Emblem 7 Blazing Sword/GBA! I only TASTED stuff like FF8, but I did beat the PS1 RPG line up Sans Legend of Legaia on the PS3 years later by buying them! I had a lack of a PS1 memory card till the PS2 era where I finally got one on chirstmas same time as FF9 and Legend of Legaia I played and beat BEFORE I got my PS2 directly! Still miss Brave Fencer Musashi! That was a WORDERFUL hidden gem my grandma may she rest in peace got me from a discount shop because she thought "I might like it!" Hell I got into Suikoden because the bad box art of S1 looked interesting! I miss those days they tried to make Japanese Art games look less anime and more Conan the barbarian....or that Shooter game on the SNES with the "Old man with a banjo that had NOTHING to do with the game LOL) then found March of the Black Queen via emulation and 64 via baby brother getting a WiiU on the year it came out from Ma.....then a PS4 from his uncle that he started playing WAY MORE that his WiiU remained unplayed so I "borrowed it" (with his blessing since he had no interest in playing it anymore, too into the ONLINE games to care about the WIIU So it became mine "unofficially!" since we still lived together, it wasn't like I took it out, and once I got the Switch, I just forgot about it and it just became the console my younger sister's sons, my nephews LOVED playing Lego games on!) and saw Ogre Battle 64 in the Eshop (I was looking for Tactics Ogre Knight of Lodis, but it would do). So you can see my happiness that Unicorn overlord is what it is (it's been VERY long since I last played OB64, I'm 37 now and I last played it when I was 28 or so, around when my grandmother passed at 89! Hit a depression of sorts and was stuck playing more Action games like Soulsbournes and Traditional RPG like Persona 5 (Alot of the Hidden Gem RPG I played were from Atlus, I did mention Megaten I think, being a fan of that series! Like love SMT and Persona so I'm not involved in the stupid "Persona 5 ruined Megaten" arguement!) as I didn't have the heart for tactics RPG till Fire Emblem Three Houses reinvigorated the magic....then Tactics Ogre Reborn came out and I was brought back to that genre. I finished up my 11th playthrough of Fire Emblem Engage (stopped abit to play Tears of the Kingdom as I got it as a gift a month after it's release! I day 1 bought Engage! Never did it again till Unicorn Overlord, You have to have my HIGH trust like Fire Emblem does, or release a demo that transfers.....and similar to Fire Emblem, have my high trust like Atlus and Vanillaware do!) when I tried the demo for this game, and frankly the only thing I say I HATED about the demo "was the TIME LIMIT!" (I hate being RUSHED, and by time limit, I don't mean a STAGES time limit, just the Demo's Time Limit! I felt like I had to rush the game, but hey at least I got scarlett back before it ended and have ALOT waiting for me once I play it, it's still in the box after getting it last LAST friday due to the fact I was in the middle of trying Three Houses again AFTER the demo and thought I could beat it before Friday, I overestimated my odds, so I won't play UO till I beat the playthrough of TH I'm doing! Best 100% so I have a clear head

Same composer(well, sort of). Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre were both composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto and his team. He went on to start Basiscape, and he's composed for Vanillaware since. This is essentially the same dudes who did the tactics games.
