This is a Punjabi folk song beautifully rendered by Ustad Shujaat Khan ji but it's not Shiv Kumar Batalvi's poem. ਸ਼ਿਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਬਟਾਲਵੀ - ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਵੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਜੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਵੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਸਿਰ 'ਤੇ ਚਾ ਕੇ ਤਕਦੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਚਣ ਜਾਵੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਜੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਵੇ । ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਪੱਤਣੀਂ ਛਿੰਝਾਂ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਪੀੜਾਂ ਪਹਿਨ ਪੰਜੇਬਾਂ ਟੁਰੀਆਂ ਕੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਡਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਅੰਞਾਣਾ ਪਾ ਅਕਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁੱਚੇ ਲੀੜੇ ਬੁੱਢੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਉਂਗਲੀ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਮੇਲਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਆਵੇ । ਇਸ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਣ-ਹੱਦ ਭੀੜਾਂ ਹਰ ਸੂ ਉੱਡਣ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੂੜਾਂ ਪੈਰ ਪੈਰ 'ਤੇ ਢੋਲ ਢਮੱਕਾ ਫਿਰਨ ਮੱਛਰੀਆਂ ਗ਼ਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੂਰਾਂ ਆਲਾ ਭੋਲਾ ਸੁਪਨ ਅੰਞਾਣਾ ਬਹਿ ਫ਼ਿਕਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਾਲ ਪੰਘੂੜੇ ਪੁੱਠੇ ਝੂਟੇ ਖਾਵੇ ਐਸੇ ਆਵਣ ਗੇੜ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੌਂ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਕਦੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਹ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਗੁੰਮ ਜਾਵੇ । ਉੱਚੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਰੋਏ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਹਰ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਦੇ ਨਕਸ਼ ਪਛਾਣੇ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਇਸ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਜਾਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਗੁੱਠੇ ਫੜ੍ਹੀ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਬੈਠਾ ਵੇਖੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੰਧਾੜੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਤਾਈਂ ਕੁੱਲ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੈਰ ਕਰਾਵੇ ਪਰ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਰੋਈ ਜਾਵੇ । ਪਰ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਰੋਈ ਜਾਵੇ ਲੱਖ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਥੀਂ ਉਹ ਵਰਚਾਵੇ ਲੱਖ ਦੇਵੇ ਮਿੱਟੜੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਵੇ ਪਰ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਥੀਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਭਾਵੇ ਹਰ ਬਾਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਗ਼ੁੱਸੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੋਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਵਗਾਹਵੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੀਂ ਖ਼ਲਕਤ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਥੀਂ ਹਰ ਬਾਵਾ ਠੀਕਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਜੀ ਬਸ ਏਦਾਂ ਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਹਰ ਬਾਵੇ ਦੀ ਔਧ ਬਿਹਾਵੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਬਸ ਮਿੱਟੜੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਵੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਸਿਰ 'ਤੇ ਚਾ ਕੇ ਤਕਦੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਚਣ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਬਸ ਮਿੱਟੜੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਵੇ । ਸੱਜਣ ਜੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਵੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਿਰਹਾ ਸਿਰ 'ਤੇ ਚਾ ਕੇ ਤਕਦੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਚਣ ਜਾਵੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਜੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਵੇ ।
