A new generation steps up to the plate in a moving sequel to the 1985 baseball manga, Touch. Mitsuru Adachi. Been doing manga so long that his plot points and development is pretty much cut and paste from his other works at this point. And yet...no matter how much he reuses things, they all hit home on some level and still make for great stories.

Adachi is the definition of comfort. Even tho the baseball and the romance seem like we all go through that before, his manga still bring the comfort. But he can throw a curve ball to us at anytime so better not get too comfortable

I hear and saw kanji of minamikaze in OP and it was the name of caffee Minami's dad owned in Touch manga. If you see the video slowly you can also see Minami and Tatsuya (2 second from the beginning).

I ADORE Touma. I like what they did with the brothers too. Soichiro is practically Kazuya, the technical sibling, and Touma is the spiritual succesor of Tatsuya. It's like we're watching what would have happened if Tatsuya did not self limit himself for the sake of his brother, with both being in baseball. And you know, without that certain...tragedy. Otomi is basically Minami, looks wise, but the role of Minami is split between her and Haruka (who also shares traits with Sachiko Nishio and completely looks like her). Arisa Mita is basically an amalgam of Yuka AND Tomoko Terashima (the little sister of the first "big" obstacle the brother(s) face). Did I miss anything?

In this season, there are 2 returning characters from its predecessor, Touch. Isami Nishimura, father of Takumi and Shohei Harada who appeared in last episode. Although Shigenori Nishio only appeared in flashback. For those who started in this series, You "may" need to read the manga or Watch the Anime adaptation of Touch. 3-part compilation movie is set in alternate timeline which changes the manga's plot. Whereas 2 part TV special is set after the manga and anime versions.

The Duck King yes, it takes 27 episodes before the main character starts pitching so you have to deal with all that, but otherwise i would say its a great anime of course the love triangle will not last til the end

I recommend you to watch Touch first since this is sort of like a sequel to Touch (though it's indirect). More old characters from Touch will return in Mix to help progress the story subplots. It is unnecessary but you'll feel nostalgic if you know anything about Touch beforehand.
