That was exactly what I needed. More content about how to better prepare my mix for the Master.

would love to have a video on differents ways of processing thru busses - whats the differences between using group busses and return and how to bounce them for mixing &mastering stems sesh . - do you use return parallel compression for kick and bass thru arrangement then bounce (glued) together for or you wait to process those via buss while doing the stem mix ? everything regarding busses and comparing ways of getting to roma :D thanks guys

I haven't heard this from anyone before---keeping your sound at the same volume as the original sound, which makes sense - it's louder not better! Will do going forward.

Love your channel and the way you describe things. Feels like you are fed up with overexplaining so you keep it clear and simple. Some racks with stock plugins to fasten up the workflow would be deeply appreciated. Cheers from Amsterdam.

You picked up on my exact vibe - spot on! Workflow racks are a neat idea, gonna look into that.

Another helpful tutorial! Do you always keep the Kick separated from the sub & mids?

is that High Pass filtering on Kick at 6:09 always necessary? I see it in every producing tutorial, but I also see every producer channel warn that doing steep slope cuts on Ableton EQ Eight creates phase issues and artifacts in the low end.
@valerk902 ай бұрын
That's what also bothers me. Most of the time I find that HP filtering a kick only raises the db meters but my ears don't hear much difference or it sounds even quieter. Even in this example, when he applied EQ, to my ears the kick got quieter while the volume meters showed an increase in gain. Lowering the gain on EQ to compensate for this drowns the kick in the mix imo. So most of the time I only LP my main kick and add secondary kicks/toms for mid range to add that "hardstyle" sound if needed. EQ happens because of phasing and this is an area I don't want to mess around with in my low end yet.

I love to know techniques for removing the noise floor on hardware/eurorack synths. but anything mixing and mastering is great.
@themattschulz39846 ай бұрын
Look up "signal to noise ratio" ... basically what you want is to record with your synth output as loud as possible without clipping. "Correct" volume is key here, so don´t try to apply any mixdown before recording, mix it afterwards. What you aim for is maximum "distance" between your signal volume and the noise floor ... most of the time you won´t need to remove the noise floor from the recording at all that way. There are also videos here on KZbin, that discuss and compare the noise different interfaces bring with. If you can use a low noise one ... cables don´t make any difference unless they are really really cheap crap.
