Hi Jeff! A great, short video to enjoy. Thanks! 🙂 You showed the stamps very well and good information with them. I had time to properly "study" each stamp and enjoy its beauty. I quite like the King George VI stamps - I like how his head is beyond the stamp design's boarder. All the stamps were very neat. I really start to realize that Australian stamps are well produced.

i don't suppose you noticed a flaw on the 4 stamps THORNBILL on the bottom right just under the thornbill caption [a white 'smudge'-while the others don't have this].
@jeffsstamps7 ай бұрын
Hi Roger - no I did not notice - but yes - the colour seems to be as if it has been with a stroke of a watercolour brush (bottom right hand stamp coming from the birds tail area and going up into the corner !!!! There also seems to be lots of differences between the bottom right and bottom left stamp (the white lines on the wings etc m. The top left and the top right stamps have a difference (look at the white area near the top of the beak and below the beak on the top right stamp whereas the top left does not have that. Very observant of you Roger !!!!

When did Australia decimalize stamps?
@jeffsstamps7 ай бұрын
Hi - Australia’s decimal stamps were issued from 7th February 1966 :)

I see that you show the 6 cent bird stamp as issued on June 2, 1965…hummm, it seems to have an August 1964 cancellation. Any ideas?
@jeffsstamps7 ай бұрын
Hi John -Yes - not all stamps are cancelled first day of issue -but June 2, 1965 is the official date of issue

@@jeffsstamps Hi Jeff, August of 1964 does seem a wee bit sooner though than June 2, 1965
@jeffsstamps7 ай бұрын
@@johnwmartin6218 hi John - even though my stamp identifier identified this stamp being issued in 1965 - it was certainly issued in 1964 as per the cancel. However according also to my ‘Rennicks Stamps of Australia catalogue’ these 6d Yellow Tailed Thornbill stamps were issued 1964 and 1965. Also There were particularly lots of bird stamps issued between 64 and 65 even the same stamp issued as a 5 cent stamp. Anyway - I will double check the cancel :)

@@jeffsstamps Hi Jeff, this is very interesting. Please keep us all informed about what you find out. It could be as simple as a typographical error in a publication. After all, the 4 and 5 are next to each other on the keyboard, at least on mine.
