Searching For Star Notes! In this video, I'll be searching $1, $5, and $10 Bills for Star Notes and Fancy or Cool Serial Numbers! I picked up $4,000 worth of federal reserve notes from a local bank hoping to find more star notes and/or fancy serial numbers in this circulated stack of bills. Did we find any cool numbers? I just got into currency searching recently so I am learning as I go. I appreciate any feedback or comments you may have! I hope you enjoy this hunt with me. I did a bill search recently. No star notes but I did get some older bills. I only searched through the one dollar bills and I got a 1999 and a 1985 note. Both of those notes that I have though are in pretty rough shape but I still keep them anyway because they are older.

At the 3:00 minute mark, the 2017 bills you show appears to have had a heavy inked 8 on the top bill, upper serial number.

Someome just stole my 2 blue stamped one dollar bills and my red stamped 5 dollar bill. Are they very rare to find? My heart is broke into two pices right now it was my pride and joy m. I am genuinly so confused by these videos. I mean I get the concept of why you're doing it, obviously, and I understand why people watch, but... If you are doing it seriously, which you Obviously are, then - except for the content - why do you search these bills by hand? It's not like these are graded or even uncirculated bills and you are worries about the bend it might put in them by running them through a machine, so why not just scan them all and then review the numbers (manually if you prefer, but personally I don't even see the need for that once they're in a CSV from a counter)? I just got interested in this hobby last month, so I am seriously open to the idea of being an idiot for asking this question, but I looked them up and found several counters on different sites from different brands that for as little as around $500 up to around $1200 for the nicer consumer models you can get a counter that connects to your computer and will report the serial numbers of all the bills, including capturing star notes. Let's assume you're keeping track of all this in Google Sheets, then you could (or could pay someone to) write up a quick Google App that finds whatever you are interested in serial number wise. I assume there are more sophisticated counters that can provide the scan to the computer and then you can run your own OCR on it to get years if you also want pre 2000 or whatever else. I get that it's a hobby but lawn care is a hobby too and I still use power tools to do it. -- Thanks for anyone who can shed some light on this for me :)
