This is the first time I remember hearing you talk about tracing paper. I have an old pad that is a bit yellowed. I’m going to dig into that now. Thanks!

I'm having so much fun with this. Little miss Liv, my almost 6 yo granddaughter, while looking on my studio table:" Ohhh Oma, that is exactly what I need, a beautiful artbook with pockets!" So guess what? We now are following you together and Little Miss Liv is making her own journal. My letter size Gelliplate is now all hers as I bought the extra large one. I guess she is your youngest follower.

I'm relaxing into this. You are just so inspirational! Haven't had any luck with the Muchi paper yet but I'll keep trying. Brilliant with the double sided tape pulling the paint! Thank you so much, Robyn, for everything. 🧡🙏🏽🧡

It is always such a revelation Robyn to watch you take a few bits of torn paper and make something absolutely stunning with them -- you are truly a source for that bottomless well ❤️

I adore your artistic style. You have become my most favorite paper artist. And am awestruck at your generosity in sharing your glorious creative process. PS I got tired of throwing away the empty plastic glue stick tubes as I use up so much of them. I searched and found, loved/found to be perfect, and reordered a gel wallpaper paste in gallon tubs on Amazon. It was about $30 for the large tub and goes a long way. Secures everything I've tried, all weights of papers and fabrics, etc., even more securely than good glue sticks did, without rippling (!) and stays beautifully translucent when dried. Yes, it still comes in plastic, but a far less amount than all the glue stick containers and caps would be to adhere the same amount of pages. And the little lidded buckets could be reused vs. wasted in landfills. I believe it to be as non toxic as glue sticks but haven't checked thoroughly. I've had no reactions from using it the last year. Thought to share on case you might like to work with it. It's called "Roman Pro-880 ultra clear strippable wallpaper adhesive." (Just a big fan of it and you, in no-way affiliated.)

Thx Shelly for sharing that, I actually will use wheat paste in my large collages which is very similar to wallpaper paste and you are so right it glues beautifully and has a long life regarding artwork. I so glad that you found this solution to the plastic and happy you've shared it here so others can try it!! xo

I’m such a fan, inspiring! I love hearing you talk about your thought process. And I learn a lot about so many new materials and ways to use them. Would you be able to zoom in just a little closer to the journal?

Gorgeous, as always! I’ve added fine glitter to strips of Sookwang / scor tape to make customized ribbon, and I’ve used packing tape to clean off my gelli plate, but now THIS?! Brilliant! Robyn, how do I catch you Live for these Saturday videos? -Patreon member Have a great week!

Wanted to know how you attached the fabric together for the cover of the journal. I’ve gel printed on Ty Vek and have some cotton and muslin fabric. I saw that you sewed in several directions to hold it together. Did you have to reinforce the spine with a piece if fabric? We’re only copied papers used? Thanks. I’m eager to start this project and keep up with you.

Hi Sharon, I used a full piece of fabric and then pieced speciality fabrics on top of that, so the cover is supper strong. I put fabric inside as well but I've used copier paper that I've Gelli printed I just glue it to the back of the fabric with PVA (white glue) I hope that helps! :)

Robyn can you tell us where you are sourcing your woad pigment? I guess my garden space is permanently turning into color not food. Thank you.
@RobynMcClendon3 жыл бұрын
Hahahaha I've resorted to the same! I got it on my last visit in 2019, from a small company that makes it in the south of France. "Terre de Pastel" that don't sell it on their website only the pastel crayons.

New to your site, and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos!! One question please. What kind of glue sticks do you use? And will they work on canvas board or are they strictly for paper on paper?

I think she means what kind of paper was it? As in, what properties about that paper caught your artistic eye? You kindly found a link so hopefully she can see its description.
