In today's art video, I embarked on a creative journey exploring the world of abstract painting. My color palette was inspired by the rustic hues found in old buildings, featuring dusty blues, quiet greens, vintage reds, and warm oranges. Armed with a diverse array of artistic tools, including Kuretake Gansi Tambi watercolors, acrylic paints, oil pastels, and posca pens, I delved into the magic of mixed media. After finding your channel and subscribing, I treated myself to Colour Cube 1. I think it is a great tool because in the past I spent an age trying to choose a colour palette for my project and now I randomly pick a card and go with the flow. OK, now… you’ve given me so much to work with over these last few weeks -tips, challenges, palettes, links, encouragements (be brave!), and joy. THANKS for being so generous. These two pieces are fantastic and I can’t wait to dig into these colors- they were so vibrant and stunning (that bottom right corner of the left piece!) when you pulled the tape. I haven’t watched your videos in order, but I remember it was your oil and wax demonstration (masters?) that really showed me the beauty of pulling the tape. I’ve taught it to a friend and now, when we are going to paint Denise Love style, we’ll call each other and say “Wanna come over and pull some tape?” No lie… 😂

I think this one is my favorite so far! Its amazing how colors go together. I was thinking while you were doing it that I might like to do a really big one! If I did, do you think it would be better on a mixed media paper? Do you always use watercolor paper? I wonder how mixed media would hold up to watercolor and all those other supplies you use.

Most of them can... a few may be too stiff for watercolor, but I mix and match mine all the time!

Question that I need help with. Which direction do you store your pens? Upside down or right side up -cap up or down? I store some of my brushes clean than flat. Others are brush up. Am I correct? Thanks.
