I feel so blessed to be back home now and sitting in my craft room watching you that honestly I wouldn’t care if you painted a piece of wood and we spent the rest of the video time just watching that paint dry while listening to you talk! You are the real deal, to us; honest, creative, live (I don’t mean with a temperature and a pulse 😅, but you don’t go back and edit out mistakes and “bumbles”…we get the real “Craft Room a la Gayle Agostinelli” experience!) 56:55 Even some of our spouses are in on it…as for mine, he’ll walk by as I’m watching an episode and will say, “how are the girls doing in volleyball this season?, or “has their grandson picked a college yet?” or “what’s Mike got baking in the oven today? (followed by “don’t get any ideas…I’ll build you anything you want, but I’m not going to learn to make a cheesecake!” Isn’t he hilarious???) Gayle, we are not just your “Subbies,” we are a community! Think of us as citizens of Gayleville where you only go to live if you want to learn something new each day about: making journals and everything that goes into them, mixed media art, and even little tidbits on Helena! Thank you, Gayle, for making a return visit to making bee’s wax ephemera! I used all that I made almost immediately when you introduced it the first time so this was a very enjoyable one to watch! I’m being told by my Occupational Therapist that working daily on this type of crafting (journal, ephemera, pockets, stamping, gelli printing, cutting, and gluing) is one of THE BEST fine motor skills I can possibly do to assist in my recovery from a stroke! That’s all I needed to hear! Love you, Gayle,and I love all the “Subbies” here as well! ❤ (P.S. hubby walked by earlier…”What’s Gayle up to today?” “Well, dear, she’s showing us all how to wax our ephemera.” Husband stops dead in his tracks. “I’ve got a Masters degree in Engineering and at 74 I can’t remember whether or not we learned about the ephemera in freshmen Human Anatomy, so I’m going to assume I don’t know what the ephemera is nor do I want to know what it is or why it needs waxing, so I’m just going to walk away and go get my coffee.” Oh my stars!!!! I was laughing so hard at him I had big tears coming down my face!😂😂😂😂😂 I love that man! 💕

The Bee’s Wax ephemera is so cool. I can’t wait to see all of them in the upcoming journals. I, for one, love your filler words. I know that whenever we hear “okay,” you are totally focused on the project. Whenever I hear that a viewer is trying to change a maker’s verbiage, it reminds me of women who find a new partner and then set about to change them into something else. Please stay as you are. Good morning Gayle & friends! Sorry folks are compelled to make mean comments. My momma taught me the golden rule and I follow it! Even having to employ that back button on my keyboard every now and then! 😂😂😂 So glad you did the wax! I bought some a long time ago and haven’t done anything with it! Can you use the wax on scrapbook paper, also? Sure glad you didn’t get hurt tripping. I’m a klutz so I have to remind myself to think through things like plugging in an iron or curling iron (which I use more than the other kind cause I do not like to iron either!). Pretty sure I can finalize the 2 journals I’ve been working on today. I did take a minute over the weekend to make a 6x6 flip-flop journal. I plan on carrying in my purse to take notes/lists/etc. Hope everyone has an awesome week! Blessings & hugs!

You can use left over used candles and just scrape or cut off pieces of wax to do this as well. Super fun and certainly inexpensive 😊

Never would have thought of using beeswax this way...I have a huge block I can grate up. Don't worry about the negative Nancys...some people will always find something to nitpick about. We all have those words we use to fill in the gaps when we're doing things at the same time as talking, it's fine! I'd rather watch a video that feels real, like I'm sitting in the craft room with you, than one that is overly scripted feeling. I never thought you said any one thing too often.

I so enjoy watching you do this. I think these came out spectacularly. You can really tell with this batch of papers how translucent they become, almost like vellum. I just love it. I'm so tempted to do it, I'm just a bit worried about our hot temperatures and whether it could ruin a journal, not something we can know without testing .. LOL. I haven’t had any melting problems or had the waxed pages “bleed” on to the neighboring pages, but I keep my journals in the house, so the temperature is pretty regulated. Big hugs back, dear Joey! ❤

I saw the iron at the opening. I thought, “Oh, no! Gayle’s quilting friends are influencing her.” I rescued my childhood crayons from my parent’s house. ☕️ Good morning!🌞 Just wanted to say that I’ve never seen this waxing done before. I like the look of it, but in the back of my mind there are questions . Does it bleed through other pages when it’s in a book? Does it clog your iron? Will it wash off her sleeves? Will it glue? Is she talking to me? No offense taken, as I have had 75 years of Grace references and the only one that never fit was graceful 😂. Then when you applied the glue I asked will it last? Will it dull the cutter blade? STOP! ✋🏼🤔 I’ve now come to the conclusion that Gayle knows what she’s doing ! What am I thinking? 😂 I crack myself up sometimes. Your bees wax papers are beautiful, Gayle. I just want to make you aware that some people who are allergic to bees are also allegric to bees wax. If you sell a journal that has bees wax papers inside of it, I would recommend making a note on the listing that this journal contains bees wax. It protect both you and the buyer, just in case they are allergic.

Id forgot how much I enjoy your videos - your giggle is amazing. I've done this before but used candle wax. Problem was they all got cracks everywhere they got slightly bent. Thanks for showing what to do with these papers. Definitely going to try again. BTW, we had 5" of snow a couple of weeks ago - shut us down for 3 days. The 4th day was sunny and 67. Gotta love Southern snow😅 MYOBW was truly a big thing, it was like swearing for 4th graders😂

Good morning Gayle! I've always loved the look of these papers. I have tons of wax beads for making wax seals. I wonder if they would work for this process. Also, how would it look to use colored wax? since most of my wax beads are different colors. I do have lots of yellows and whites. I may have to try this some time using the beads I have. Hi Gayle. I use an old hair straightener for small items, I put the item and wax sandwiched in some baking paper and run it between the straighteners. Works really well. I hope everything goes well with the ENT dr.

Hi Gayle, these turned out beautifully! I especially love that wormy paper! Next time you beeswax could you please show how you clean your iron? I've only waxed paper once and was putting parchment or waxed paper on top of wax and page but wax still got on my iron and I don't think I have ever gotten it all the way off. It wasn't my craft iron, I used my regular iron like a dunce.😂 TFS 😊

Hi Kimberley! All I do to clean my iron is iron off on a completely clean page. But this is really all I use my craft iron for, so it doesn’t have to be completely clean. Hope that helps! ❤

I love your videos and your personality Gayle! Never change! Can you tell us if the wax dry transfers to other papers when closed inside a journal? No heat. I know it's not technically "greasy" but I'm curious if it will make papers pressed to it go a bit translucent. Love all your ideas! Thank you for sharing!

I haven’t had the wax papers do anything to papers on either side of it. Of course, you have to make sure they are good and dry. 👍❤

Yep! You can put metal corners on it, if you like, and put an eyelet for closure…really anything you’d do with other types of covers. So fun! I hope you like them! ❤
