Another way you can add/subtract mixed numbers is to write the mixed numbers vertically, add/subtract the fractions first, then add/subtract the whole numbers. The regrouping works the same way as working with multi-digit integers.

2 5/12 or 29/12 - in this case I didn't unmix I just did 10-2 and 11/12-1/2(6/12)

In the past, you have told us not to change our improper fraction answers to a mixed number. Now you seem to be giving us our improper fraction answers as a mixed number. Why the change? Thanks for the daily exercises. They're addictive.
