I had an IBM list, and I have been happily married for almost 26 years to my ideal man, who happens to be white. I'm also educated, a bachelor and two masters degrees. I did have to become open to something else to find my happiness, but I'm so glad I did. I have been cherished, valued, listened to, celebrated, and supported. Be more focused on character than color.

I love this movie! It's on my rewatch/rotation list. Aww...wish this reaction was longer! There were so many great scenes like when she had the breakdown and the guy said it comes down to chemistry between a man and woman and then omg, the scene with her dad in the bathroom "the man is white, he's not a Martian!" LOL

I loved this movie. I was in a relationship with a white man and I was ok with it however I think my issue was what other people thought but not because he was white. He was well known where I worked and I wondered what they were thinking. We got married so obviously my feelings outweighed the reactions of others. I just needed to remind him of what I see in society is what he was sometimes blinded to. I appreciate that Jori admitted that he realizes that he was sometimes "ignorant" to certain issued that we have to deal with.

Yeah, this is a good movie! The first time I watched it, I was glued, because it had a lot of dynamics in it about race, and relationships. I've never dated outside my race, a couple white guys liked me, but I just never went there because I wasn't interested in dating anyone(Black nor White). Anyways, I think people deal with interracial relationships indifferent way . What I've noticed, for example, in my culture it's accepting of a person dating a white guy, or another race. For example, my aunt only dated white guys(living in a predominantly black country) even though she is black. We just accepted it, we never ostracized, or questioned her because of it. But I've noticed, in African American culture, it's a big thing for them, "It's like sleeping with the enemy" as they said in the movie. I can understand where they're coming from. They can talk about racial issues like all the time! So I could see why Brian was getting frustrated in the movie, when she keeps bringing up white people this, white people that, and especially berating white people... So I understand why he was vexed and why he said, "not tonight". What if it was the other way around? Would she have been comfortable with him always talking about black people and berating them? I think it's all about respect, we have to respect everyone's race or color more so when we are friends with or dating them. Especially in a interracial relationship, we have to be more considerate of the other person's race. We have to think about the other person's feelings, know when, and what to say, and how we would feel if they constantly spoke ill about our race. It all boils down to RESPECT!

I think racial discrimination isn’t just marriage of different nationality..it’s just the individual personal feelings who their children married….because you can come home introducing your parents to your special friend but if they aren’t in the same tribe as they are, parents can downfall-your choice. Very strong minded to reject. I know few couples got their hearts broken by disagreeing. Human mind can ruin your life if you don’t stand up to your satisfaction and love for whoever you love. Watching your lifestyle and your acceptance to your families are soo so heartwarming to see the respect that have for each other. Don’t let others cut your life…they themselves need a better life to create and joyful happy lifestyle. Take a pare and be proud for who you are and who loves you most😊😊😊❤️🙏

people have a lot of microagressions and some don't see it everyday .but it happens when u least expect...it's not a nite off if she was in a blk coupledom or around blk people. we always talk about it as in passing vs a huge thing . .it's part of general day... she wanted to vent and he was not use to how her life is in that respect vs his in this movie

Well like with Biname not all black women or men have shared the exact experiences, so for that even in interracial relationships it can be viewed differently determining the cultural background of the interracial couples and where they live. In a society such as Latin America, also part of my heritage where every other person is basically a cocktail of generational mixing, it won't stand out as much within the social norm. A Hispanic of African ancestry would probably be more culturally comfortable in the U.S. with another Hispanic or Latino of a different race, the thing is cultural associations can be stronger in some regions of the world than race and skin tone. That's my point...

This was a good reaction video to a great movie. I just saw this movie for the first time (April 2023). How I missed it, I don’t know because I like both actors and he is beautiful. I used to watch him on the tv show The Guardian. Love him. What I found out about myself is he is maybe one of a few Caucasian men I think is very attractive. Usually I only notice brown skin with dark hair. There is hope for me yet to look outside of my ideal man.
