Starts out with an empty truck and towards the end you can see it trying to squeeze in the last couple cans in the alley.

Exceptional video, reminds me of the old days at DaDee mfg doing a ride along with a scorpion unit in the ghetto packing out in 45 minutes - similar here almost. Tons of good hard revving and packing as well. Amazing how much compaction is required to keep the hopper cleared once the unit is half loaded to eventually packed out. Too bad there’s not a lot of spacing between cans to really coast in neutral and get multiple cycles out of that blade to clear the hopper as best as possible. I’ve always wanted to see a curbtender hopper video with nothing but loaded 300s, definitely delivered here.

Curbtenders don't have crusher panels and just cycling the hopper takes too long. Usually the problem is you have lightweight material (like boxes) causing a bridge over the hopper, and so sometimes the best strategy is to go ahead and dump the next can and hope it has some heavier stuff that will pin that lightweight material from the previous can down so the hopper can actually work on it. Crusher panels solve the bridging problem to some extent but some manufactures don't have them, Curbtender is one of those, and the truck I drive (Heil Durapack Python) and I hate them for it. The fact that I can outload the hopper on my heil with a string of full 90 gallons and haft to sit there and wait for the can to clear before I can move on slows me down, and turns what would be an easy day, into a long one. Any truck can eat when its empty, its if it can still eat when its packing out that's the challenge. As Refuse Arizona will tell you, the scorpions hopper is the best one for overloaded cans in the ghettos, those trucks can eat. Though that Genove / Neway Rotopack's auger system might also be good (haven't really seen what happens when one of those starts packing out) Can't wait for the patents to run out so other companies can steal the design. Then maybe I'll get a truck that doesn't suck.

@laurin43394 жыл бұрын

In my town, Winchendon, MA, our Transfer Station accepts only authorized bags, costing some $4.00 each!
