Forty and fab!! I actually celebrated my birthday over the weekend, but shot this video a few weeks ago. When I reflect back on my life and career, and think about what I have learned in the beauty industry, this is the stuff that comes to mind. I hope it’s helpful!

Susan, thank you for mentioning that you look and feel better now than you did at age 20. I totally, 100% agree! Some of my teenage students talk about how they're almost afraid of getting older, and I've told them, trust me; you'll look and feel better as you get older. If you treat yourself well now, that will serve you for the long haul. Again, thank you Susan, and happy birthday!!!!!

I’ve learned SO MUCH from Susan! As a guy new to “real” skincare, past washing your face with a harsh soap, I’ve grown so much because of her. She’s not condescending. She’s down to earth, and just really at heart, an educator. 🙏🏼 Thank you Susan.

Amazing video!! Love the part where you talk about influencers simplifying all the complex information to people like myself would never understand what skincare ingredients mean. I’m thankful for all the KZbin videos I’ve watched that have helped me learn how to take care of my skin.
@Itssimplysteph903 жыл бұрын
When Susan was talking about how dermatologist don’t always understand ingredients it makes a lot of sense. For example, a registered nutritionist or a dietitian actually studies a lot more about how food affects our body than a regular doctor would. 🤔 Dr are seeing as the know all, but they aren’t always 🤷🏽♀️
@cheraereeves3 жыл бұрын
100% agree with everything you said 🤣 When you talked about not feeling ashamed, I felt that in my soul. I used to get really bad ingrown hairs on the front of my neck and I took like 5 years before I finally got laser due to the shame/embarrassment. THANK YOU 👏🏽👏🏽

I agree, as a Registered Nurse, yes doctors know very much but when you are an RN working under them you see and interact with the patients much more and in depth, and we don't want to come across as if we know more than the doctors, but at times it's like 'You the doctor can not see what I am seeing in this patient' and we disagree a lot at times, and sometimes we are right, sometimes we are wrong.

I just want to say thank you so much for all the great info you provide us viewers with. I started using naturium and I have to say patience is the key to great skin. I started using your products more than a month ago and due to consistency and a daily regimen my skin looks great! I am 40 years old and light skinned suffer with occasional breakouts combo skin and melasma I can’t say thank you enough to this products, I can now say my skin glows. Agree we need influencers/content creators to spread the word and give unbiased advice. I we had KZbin when I was younger (I’m 34). If that were the case I would definitely have been wearing sunscreen and not going into tanning beds . But instead I was using noxema nose strips and had no idea what vitamin c serum / retinol was!

Also have to agree that retinoids really are the gold standard; especially tretinoin. I was using OTC adapalene for five months but I really saw a HUGE difference in my skin when I went on prescription tretinoin. My skin looks like it did in high school, plus my hereditary dark circles are a bit lighter which is a huge bonus!
@jetsun6853 жыл бұрын
Do u mind me asking if tretinoin helps your dark circles? I've been using tretinoin and my skin has improved a lot...I have dark circles..
@RockBandGroupie3 жыл бұрын
@@jetsun685 I've noticed a lightning in the pigmentation around my eyes that I've had since I was a child since starting tretinoin (using 0.05%). My "dark circles" are brown/gray in color and don't change with diet, sleep, stress, or anything. Keep that in mind. If your dark circles are more bluish then tretinoin might help since it can help boost collagen/thicken the skin in that area but any changes will take to months if not years to see. Also around the eyes is very sensitive so be careful and go slow.
@jetsun6853 жыл бұрын
@@RockBandGroupie : Thank u so much for your response..much appreciated. My dark circles are due to lack of sleep for sure but even if I sleep very good it still doesn't go away ..I guess it's build up over the years :( I'll try to go slow. Thank u again. 💓

Hi Susan, I would like to ask for opinion, I know sunscreen is important during the day but when throughout the day our skin tend to be dirty because of dust or the environment or also because of sebum oil as time goes by the day. If reapply sunscreen, i tend to see that we will apply on top on our dirty skin surface and that can also cause clogged pores or acne. And yes, after the end of the day we must properly cleanse our face using cleansing balm or cleansing oil. What do your opinion on this matter?

Happy belated birthday! While I appreciate that you avoid bad product reviews.. can you give more unsponsored reviews and just let us know if products didn't work for your skin type during the particular season etc? Not bad, just not for you. Many of us pay for shipping outside of the US and your product reviews for different skin types matter in order to not waste money.

Lol, I know this is a late question, what are your thoughts about the Lancer Skincare Products? Just asking cause he recommends using it every day or night and it makes me nervous thinking I could be doing more harm than good but I haven't seen any harmful issues on my skin from using it.
