I know it’s been ages since the upload, but I had an epiphany. The reason his team changed a bit was symbolic. He hid out in the falls, found a Murkrow, casting aside his old Ryhorn, likely so the Honchkrow would bring him food and reminded him of being in charge. During this time he seems to have devolved into borderline madness. Consumed by his inner darkness and failure. It seems he didn’t learn his lesson from Red after all. When leaving Silver (the rival) behind, he seems to have gained a bit of wisdom from his defeat, but in three years time, he’s back to the way he was, maybe worse. Casting aside the Ryhorn was deliberate as he lost his foundation. He’s slowly going crazy as his megalomania isn’t being treated. Honestly stopping him was the best thing, as no one would have been safe. Why get rid of the Ryhorn, especially since it has a second evolution now, you ask? Simple. Ryhorn charges in a straight line, an unstoppable force if you will. He’s no longer that unstoppable force. Having it evolve would signify improvement, but that’s not what happens here.

I think you might be reading WAY too much into it. Its like suggesting Blue's Raticate died on the ship. Its more likely he just didn't wanna use anymore so its in the box. He's not the only rival who boxes a Pokemon despite not having 6 in his party

@@22kingdomheartsfan Nah, the real reason is that GameFreak didn't want to provide a challenge. :P But in universe, you have to wonder: Why would you Box when you don't have a full Party yet? Hop has different Pokémon in his 5th and 6th Battle, but he's the kinda guy to actually not wanting to provide a huge challenge. N has a different Team every time, but he catches them from the area and releases them afterwards. Blue is that jerk that would go all out all the time. But to be fair, his Fearow in Yellow also leaves prematurely.

Cool Fact: Normally at the Tohjo Falls when interacting with the Radio it will say "There is a radio that no longer works". However, if you battle Giovanni and going back to Tohjo falls when interacting with the radio it will now say "You cannot turn on the radio. Giovanni must have left it here".

I love this event so much. It’s a shame not everyone was able to see it for themselves. It’s crazy to think how the reason Giovanni never went back to his followers… was because of us. And then that chilling splash sound. It would’ve been cool if in the main story during the radio tower hijack you see Giovanni talk back through the radio, maybe something chilling like “I won’t be coming back. Ever” or something like that. It would’ve added more mystery for us and even for team rocket to why their boss never came back. This celebi event would’ve been the answer to that, but still would’ve let everyone else who didn’t play it to be left with the mystery.

That's how I always took it. Also, Nidoqueen's a GROUND type and Kangaskhan is a GROUND-esque looking Pokemon, so that too!

We will never know I guess but in my opinion I don't think so since Giovanni appear in Black 2 and White 2 World tournament in the original timeline. Black 2 and White 2 are two year after Black and White. Black White is years later after the event of HGSS. The clue is a former Rocket member we see at Icirrus City that resign. But also a Team Plasma mention them by saying that their plans were thwarted because "they drew too much attention to themselves".

My first time doing this event it was on SS and i was using a team traded over from my platinum game (as i had 2 ds at the time) and was all lvl 100s (Torterra, Giratina, Palkia, Dialga, Lugia, and a 6th pokemon which i just had exp share on to lvl it up after chain killing red) :D
