The battle are more realistic in my opinions, even in the game he talk a lot lol! But here I add my own personal touch.

The fact that Lance starts with a Salamence and has other strong Dragons like Garchomp (which isn’t even his ace) waiting in the wings should instill fear in you. It makes up for his kind of easy 1st battle. I’m a perfect world, he would replace that Gyarados with a Kingdra, then this would be a little rough

Please read this comment. ... I've just destroyed Lance's team with my Lugia level 72... with only Lugia.... it was thanks to the ancient power that increased his stats, and Lugia just destroyed that Garchomp and the Dragonite. Lugia is just too broken. If you have pokemon heartgold, I really recommend you to catch Lugia before rematch the Elite four.
