Thanks for your reply, I use abelton for my vocal and keyboard and I have some plugin's for my microphone effects have set it up via focusrite audio interface very happy with live stage performance but when I streaming via messenger it doesn't transfer my microphone effects, any help would be greatly appreciated😀

Read the manual and practice using your entire set up at home before trying to use it in a live situation. Wear shoes during practice if using a pedalboard, etc. The more you can be comfortable with the whole set up the better. It’s amazing how different singing into a mic is from just playing in a bedroom unplugged. Great advice on reading the manual, sounds obvious but it isn’t for a lot of people.

I am about to buy this mixer when I get the money and this video pretty much sealed the deal. I have been in contact with my music store and they know I want this one. Thanks for sharing your review. I was going to get the one without the FX because I will be primarily be using it in my DAW but, if for some reason I am doing sound for a duo acoustic act in a small club, I will need the effects. Maybe I will pay a little more and get the Zedi10FX. Thanks for you video.

Thank you for the video, that was informative and practical, with a pleasant down to earth approach. I was surprised to see the Focusrite Scarlett in the video, that I was about to buy, but bought the Allen & Heath ZEDi-10 FX instead, because of it being more capable and future proof.

Most helpful video on this mixer that I've seen on KZbin and has convinced me to buy one for my acoustic duo and solo shows. I'm going to try to get away with one floor wedge coming out of that aux send, but if you wanted 2, couldn't you just daisy chain them? You wouldn't be able to individually adjust them but at least each member of your duo would have their own monitor that way. Transitioning from an older box-type powered mixer and passive speakers to wanting to pare down to a smaller, simple analog mixer like this, and powered speakers. Also as an audio engineer with a home studio, I love the idea of the interface and the 4-in, 4-out for the duo gigs, just get the audio in clean into my Macbook Air and then take it home to mix and master. Love the idea of syncing up audio and video, too. Will have to look into that. I've never done that before but I'll check out the app you mention in your video. Looking forward to this! Great feedback! Congrats on your purchase as a solo artist this is the best mixer I've found. You could daisy chain yes. If you are a solo artist, I recommend trying to place your speaker somewhat close (within 10 feet of your ears) and slightly back so that your ears can hear the speaker while also not having your mic create feedback. This allows you to keep a light and easy set up while also being able to hear yourself.

I have an older Presonus 16.0.4 Fire wire mixer. The power supply went out and they no longer support this mixer because it is over 8 yrs. old. I now have and $1100 boat anchor. I Can't find anyone here in the Philippines to repair it and can't seem to fix it myself. That is why I am going with this little mixer. From my research online it will be perfect for my needs.

Hello : I have a little mixer question for ya. I have a small mixer for my live performance percussion playing. The mixer has fx but once you choose an effect, that’s what goes to all the channels and you can only control how much or how little. I need to put multi fx on all channels and on some of the channels, I need different fx than the other channels. How can I achieve this ? Is there a live performing mixer that can do this or do I need to chain pedals together and connect to the aux send of the mixer ? ( I need a small mixer that can handle my 6 mic inputs.) I would love to be able to put a simple reverb on say…my congas, but then a flanged wilder reverb on my timbale. Those are the kind of things I’m trying to achieve while playing live. Thanks for your help !

Hello! I am not sure what mixer you have, so I can't advise on that mixer. I can tell you that the Allen and Heath Zedi 10FX has 4 independent channels and only 1 FX setting. You can turn the fx knob to determine how much of that selected effect you want on each channel. The other option would be to do what you asked, which is to chain the pedals together and connect to the aux send of the mixer. Depending on how you want to add effects, you may just want to add effects pre gain knob, meaning as part of the signal path of the mic/line. Fo your situation you would want a footpedal anyway because you can turn the flanged reverb on and off.

Can I record the master output into my computer via USB? I want to use two mics, the stereo R n L, take advantege of the effects and record everithng. It doesn´t matter if it does not record separetly, just want to know if I can stream or record podcast with this conditions. Sorry if I do not explain myself well, not my native languaje... On page 6/12 on the manual it explains how the USB Out Source select can be chosen. Since the mixer sends out 4 channels, select the M1 - M2 - L - R option. L and R will be your main mix. You can stream live with this mixer since it has a USB connection and is an audio interface.

Скажите, пожалуйста, цифровой сигнал ( юсб шнур) пришёл на пульт, в нем есть звуковая карта, она его с цифры перекодировала в аналог, далее куда он попадает? Сразу на мастер фейдер и на выход? Смогу ли я на этотот сигнал влиять ручками тембра, добавлять эхо, и т.п. То есть я хочу этот сигнал изменять, как это можно делать на обычном микрофонном или инструментальном входе .Хотелось бы, например, мп3 файлы на компьютере, или какой то концерт на Ютюб включить и послушать качественный звук. При этом обязательно добавить/ убавить частотку, обязательно добавить эффект концертный хол, без которого просто не могу слушать музыку. Можно ли это сделать? Если только через обычный линейный вход или микрофонный/ инструментальный, то это уже шумы звуковой карты компьютера + микшера.

There's no mute button. Instead, I hit the XLR=Mon button and click the headphone button on the music channel. This allows signal to only come through on that channel. You can read more about this in the manual.

Have you considered the Soundcraft Notepad-12FX as an alternative as well? It also has a 4x4 audio interface. What are your thoughts on that?

Nice. I just did a quick search for this and read reviews on Sweetwater. This looks to have nearly all the same features, however may lack in component quality. Allen and Heath is a recognized and trusted brand.

Good tips! I just want an audio interface for 1 vocal dynamic mic. Would you recommend this over something like a focusrite scarlet or even Audient Evo 4? I know it's overkill, but a used one will be equivalent pricing.

Not familiar with Audient Evo 4. The Scarlet Focusrite lineup has several different options depending on how many inputs you want. That is a dedicated audio interface, whereas the Allen and Heath Zedi 10FX is primarily for live performance, but can be used as an audio interface. If you are recording with a single vocal microphone the Scarlett Focusrite makes more sense.

Yes lately I've been using 30, but I have the FX mix so low that it isn't noticeable much. I should probably use it a bit more, but I play indoors a lot so the sound naturally reverberates.

@@KevsGuide Correct, that's setting 23. I have since switched to setting 30. I have it so low though that it's hardly noticeable. In your case it may be best to give this unit a test in person to see if the effects are to your liking. I'm sure you could find something useful, but it depends on what you are using it for.

When playing live what do you output to? Does it have to be powered speakers?

To answer this I'd have to better understand what you are trying to output to. This board gives you the option to output to USB, headphones or speakers. USB goes to your computer. Headphones use a 1/4 jack. For speakers, I use active speakers, which are by far most popular because the power is already included in the speaker. This unit does not power speakers. You would have to provide power to those speakers a different way.

@@weeroomproductions Correct. I play as a solo artist now. I try to travel with gear that's small, light and packs a punch. My Bose L1 Pro16 gets the job done. I could go without this mixer, but like the additional mixing options. Previously, I used QSC K10 speakers.

I am not sure what your DJ set signal path looks like. Think of this mixer as a USB audio interface and live mixer wrapped into one. If you can plug in any USB interface such as a Scarlet Focusrite 2i2 into your interface, then you can plug in this one. You would simply use the USB cord provided to plug directly into your computer. In your computer you would use your Digital Audio Workstation or DJ program to map the inputs and outputs to the Allen and Heath Zedi 10FX, just like you would any other USB interface.
