@@buky69 doesn't take away from achieving its goal then, right? Emotional response from music is always the intended goal IMO. Experiencing it at a spiritual level is a bit more rare and difficult to achieve. Clearly, that's what OP was experiencing and trying to convey. No reason to take anything away from that for them, other than simplifying it for own understandings. In other words, just be cool to each other. World is full of asshats and cynicism... No need to bring it into a sacred space like this. Of course this is all just IMO so take it for what it's worth and nothing more.

Wow the chills.. the imagery provokes the feeling of wandering through a desolate world of soot and ash, seemingly the last living being there... I could only imagine the suffocating isolation one would succumb to in that dire reality. To be the only one who sees the folly of selfish greed and human corruption of the soul.. A monument to the final sin of humanity.

I appreciate the kind words. Amusingly enough I do write poetry :p I just don't share majority of them as poetry was more of a coping method growing up, and due to that, all are melancholic in nature as it was my only way of truly expressing the myriad of emotions I held within. This humbled Poet of Sorrow wishes all the best in their endeavors to those few who glance at this.

Vespian Doom I wrote poetry in the same way growing up. I find it difficult to write poetry when I'm happy, but it's not impossible. I stopped writing poetry a while ago when I got out of high school.

The hardest part of every journey is the beginning and the end. The most dangerous part of every journey, is the journey itself. My grandpa told me this. He survived the Hell trains from South America all the way up north to the American southern border. He made it. He survived the gangs. The murders. The starvation. Everything. The guns. The drugs. He did it slowly. But he survived. The brothels. He faced it all. He has wounds all over his body. Fire wounds. Knife wounds. Circular wounds. He says passing through hell, known as Mexico, was the worst part. The worst. I thanked him for his advice. He is a true American patriot now. Too old to join service though. Lol. Later on I’d learn how to shoot revolvers and rifles and shotguns. My dad didn’t do military service either. I love you grandpa. And I love my dad. Beware the journey. Wherever it may take you. This started playing today while I was out of the room making some food. I can see this was posted nearly 2 years ago, but how appropriate for today as my family sits inside, social distancing, due to the new coronavirus "plague". It's interesting how music is perceived so differently by different people. I can see how it might come off as a sad song. I sense a weariness from it. Like someone on a long journey who is worn out. But there's also a sort of beautiful peacefulness in it. Even through the weariness and the tiredness. A subtle strength. Like the character has decided to continue onward.
