Bro... U have won my suscription... So i have a problem with tonal balance control. I can mix a track very well but the izotope's tonal balance tells me to turn some things down.. And i end up not liking the mix in some cases. Can u do a tutorial on the plugin and how to achieve a great tonal balance.

You pan your Hats 1 degree, and your able to notice the difference? Also, maybe for a rough mix I could see having an equation for levels but to say everything will be ok at this 6-12 rule seems misguiding, what happens when you want to add automation to those Hihats (Which is a great thing to do by the way) or when a vocal is introduced or a guitar and some resonating frequencies fall in the same are as you bass and kick, Do you check your mixes in mono cause I am thinking you probably have a few mixes with phase issues. I also have a question 1 section is called "Drum Sidechain” but you don’t explain the sidechain I am curious what you mean.
@BroBeatzTV3 жыл бұрын
Its not 1 degree, it appears that way but its actually a percentage and yes i can cause I do it everyday and the 6-12 rule is a estimate (which i literally say in the video) its to help ppl get a good START for their mix. Its not necessarily to be followed exactly because of how many variables there are when adding other sounds but it is something that works. Specifically for ppl who have a hard time leveling. I dont really do the mono thing anymore but its not a bad thing to do. I did explain the sidechain , i just showed the kick and 808 for the sidechain cause most ppl only really care about how those two work with eachother. If i didnt then my bad, i do have short videos over how to set it up too

I used to obsess over exact db values for leveling but that isn't really leveling loudness, but digital audio volume. I don't really believe in it anymore. Depending on the tone and how much high end is in a sound, it can sound louder or quieter at the same DB level. The biggest thing with leveling is the ratio between the actual loudness you hear between sounds and don't go over 0db unless you want the distortion, like on your kick. It's what the artist hears and what the end listener hears. If you listen to reference tracks similar to your beat and try to match the ratios between sounds by ear, that will get you training your ear instead of using your eyes. This is just my opinion and maybe this works for someone else, but I don't do it anymore.
@dr.strawberry57733 жыл бұрын
nah this not just your opinion, its a fact that different frequencies add up to more overall volume. whether it be perceived or not. there's decibels and loudness, & thats worth thinking about
