Thank you for your awesome videos! Can you make a video on how to work on the painting in several sessions? Do you have to wait until the painting dries completely, or it's ok to just oil the painting after 3-5 days (or longer) and continue to paint? Do you use any solvents in your painting? Please make a video on how to make beautiful and very bright violet and purple colors. And how to make different shades of warm (olive and earth) greens. Thank you very much in advance!

3 years late... if you are still looking for suggestions, I would be very curious to see one of your loose paintings in two versions: one with your personal interpretation of colours and one trying to use the colours as they are in the photograph. That would help me understand better... I struggle so much with shadows... Today I painted the shadows in a path with lots of violets, then changed to dark gray green, then added a lot of blue with touches of sienna and rose... so many failed attempts... ended up with too much contrast between light and shade (my painting comes with as much pleasure as suffering and frustration). I love your painting style and your colourful shadows, and have watched tons of your videos since I started painting one month ago. You and David Dunlop are my favourite teachers. Thank you so much for sharing, it's a pleasure to watch you paint.

Great vid. Quick question: so I shouldn’t mix orange and blue to create shadows?

It does depend on the mix. A little orange can take the edge off the blue. A touch of white will turn it into a cool gray. Maybe it will work for asphalt. Not a common mix though.
