I'm a student in audio engineering and your videos help me to understand a lot of the stuff I need to study for my exams :) Cheers for that, keep up the good work ;) I'm also a producer and your tutorials really help to get the fundamentals of sound theory which can then be applied properly to produce quality music ^^

Hi ADiSH, Yes indeed. When working on an analogue console you will indeed have to write down all the fader / panning / eq settings etc.. This can be 'easily' done with so called recall-sheets. (pre made sheets where you just fill-in fader positions etc..)

Excellent !! You are in a rush to get it all in, ;-) but this is great and I think unique. The checklist at the end is also really good. I used that one over and over back in the day when running my own studio. No sound is quite annoying. Usually that happend when you were to tired to be on top of it all, and at the same doing difficult analog setups. These days in the box and happy as they always say :-) Really fun to watch ! | Thanx4uploading : : ;

haha I'm sure it will be #inyourleague one day ;) (And I'm quite sure you can benefit from this theory in software as well.. ;) ) I don't have access to big consoles every day, but there's so many similarities in using software when we understand the common analogue signalflow.. -And as a heads up; The next tutorials in this season will be about Software Mixing and after that we'll be combining analogue with digital!

Hé, heb net m'n eerste 'echte' miniconsole/mixer gekocht (Soundcraft signature MTK22 (met 22 in/24 uit over usb) en met deze uitleg kom ik er wel uit. Tof hoor. Heb me ook geabonneerd op je kanaal. Ik mix tot nu toe in de box, maar dat verandert binnenkort. Straks analoog mixen en summen. Dank!

Nice vid ! but there is something i don't get it. min 3:08. Why there are so many cables going from the mixer to the tape recorder? i tought that it was recorder directly from the main out of the mixer to the recorder, not each channel. Im i wrong?

so when the route the audio back to the mixer from the computer, does that means they write down every where every fader and knob are at the end of every session?

Hi, first of all congratutalions for the great videos that you`re making, it has helped me a lot. Can you help me? when someone is recording in the interface Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 for example:Vocal/Bass/Guitar/Drums at the same time, during their recording, the sound that is being recorded into the daw, are already going in separately? so later it can be possible to work (mix) each instrument? or beyond the interface, the daw software,the pc "computer", and the monitors, and since that the interface already has preamps in it, will i need to buy an external preamp harware for voices? and i have heard the firewire its better than the usb because does not introcuce noise in the recordings that are being recorden into the daw? so after all what i would like to know is, for i can have a mini studio with the minimal conditions, witch tools do i need? can you give me a sugestion? what do you think? i really apreciate if you can help me. Thank you very much for your time

Thank you for the great video. Have a big question. at 3:25 what is a good audio interface which has 24 or at least 16 ins which I can use?. Maximum I have seen is 8-in only. How does the big studios with 60+ mixers work with the computers and what sort of interfaces they use? any models you can specify? Thank you
