People think all Americans have alot of money and all helped by the government, nope, the system and organizations help whom they choose they WANT to help. Some people didnt get the chance of an opportunity to have more because of the system mind set . So to me , your rich or at least well off at such a young age. Im glad you can have the chance to do these wonderful things. I think all the things you do to decorate your home for comfort are all good. This bench / seating window area is a great idea. You can maybe try to add, later, those cute bench cushions to make it cosier. And I think a little table in front of the wall and next to the seating window is a must, to put your coffee cup (or even a lamp). It's very satisfying to see your house taking shape and see yourself injecting your personality to make it your own. PS : this garden is incredible and I totally understand why you choose to face your sofa in front of the big windows instead of the TV.

What a brilliant move to divide the space with your couch - you still have a large open space, but also a sense of a smaller, more cozy area. Love the idea of lightening up the brick wall - it's quite heavy visually, and NYC loft in feeling. And it's not a particularly great color or texture. It's great that you know that decorating your home is going to take a while. Personally, I don't like spaces that are all done within the same month or two. They may be visually stunning, but I'm not going for stunning. I want my house to look like I've lived here, comfortably and happily, a long time. Yours will look like that.

Also enjoyed seeing the word "peber" today when you were hanging up your spice rack... anytime you feel like teaching us a new Danish word would be amazing, I love learning new languages! Because of how tall it is it seems it might be a better fung shui-other idea to move some of those potted plants outside and leaving the window counter space a little more simple and minimal :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY darling from me in the USA. Your home is incredible I can understand your wallet taking a hit. I purchased my home when I was older, 40 and I remember that hit. As an interior decorator I feel you have such charming art and very nice items. Saving a little is important first. Don’t worry about fixing your place all at once. It’s suppose to go slow. My suggestion is that little coffee table if you place it by the wall on the right of the couch( as you look at the couch with your back to that stunning window, you can put one of your bigger plants there with a smaller one next to it with coasters for your coffee or tea. You can also put a tray on that table then plants like mentioned above. I’m very glad you made the space 2 spaces by just moving the couch and adding the rug 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼BRAVO FOR YOU EXCELLENT JOB. Using what you have is great because you can do a floral gallery wall incorporate some of your precious smaller frames on the shelves. Oh that place is heaven! I just love it . Just an idea for curtains on a budget...beautiful long scarves and they don't have to match. Just the color palet maybe, but you can hang them with gathers or swag them...all kinds of ways! And it will still leave your views of your garden. Just an idea❤

As well as get another seating for the living room area like a love seat and put it up against the wall where the pants are. A cabinet to hide the tv within would be great for your space, maybe something like that will pop up on marketplace or something you can adapt (big enough for the tv but needs the back removing) Also a wooden plank/sill for the new opening between the kitchen and living room would be cool (& tie it to the wood in both spaces)

With your tv. You can make a frame with wood trim. Like a picture frame. I use a cutting block that helps you cut the angles n mirror clips. I thought it was going to be hard. And it was easy to make. I used painters tape, wood glue n hot glue.

My favorite thing to do for covering a tv is to choose a beautiful fabric and make a cover for it. I actually discovered this first with my computer screen - I used a beautiful cushion cover and just removed the zipper so it could slide over the front and back when I am not using it.

I thing a few small framed pieces would be so cute above the counter where you look out to the living room. I vote for the large floral painting with pink above the first set of shelves because you see all that lovely rose color in the hallway too. Don’t apologize for being thrifty! Your creative vision is one of the things we love about you and we all don’t have a designer budget. My favorite home tours have thrifted, inherited, and DIY items like you have. Rug turned so end tassels are towards the window seat and the dining room. That placement will keep foot traffic from garden door off rug. Orange chair with coffee table or even couch along brick wall.. So many options. Such a delightful living area. Enjoy in joy. Happy 29 turns around the sun.

I love your style and I can relate so much♡ Just a little warning with having the glass candle holder in the window. Have a look at it when the sun goes through it just to make sure it doesn't reflect a bright white light point anywhere. It could cause a fire, just like with a looking glass so just take a look at how the reflections look (how small and bright the reflections are) and where in the room the light spots are reflecting🙏🏼💕 if you're unsure, look up how the light dot looks when you use a looking glass to make a fire and compare so they're not similar :)

Get Command Strips to hang your art work on your brick wall. That way you don't damage the brick. As to hiding the tv, get an armour to put the tv in. It hides the tv and when you want to watch it, just open the armour. My tv is smaller and I have mine in a bookshelf. Happy Birthday!

I love the way your new home is coming together. I also love the brick wall as it is. Perhaps a huge golden ornate mirror or several small mirrors would soften it and break up the solid look if you feel it’s too heavy? I think white brick would be too sterile and harsh. Hello, i love the decor it's coming out really great. I'd recommend keeping the living room a white color. Every color object will make the living room area bright. The brick wall should also be white or in another color in the white pattern. That's really a NYC vibe setting. Also, keeping one wall plain. Perhaps adding new with the old makes it more vintage 🤔 it's my own style just sharing with you 🤗. You already have plenty of warm colors in your home. Happy Birthday 🎉. When you get a new coffee table, why not paint the one you have and use it as a side table next to your sofa? Also, perhaps keep an eye out for a cupboard big enough to put your tv in. ( I have used a wardrobe in the bedroom to hide ours, but you could find a smaller unit). Hope the ideas help xxx

I LOVE the dark brick wall. Very '70s and goes so well with your sofa. But it will look awesome lighter as well! Love the new rug too, it really pulls that area of the room together.

Paint will ruin the brick wall, you can never restore it to it's authentic former glory again. My suggestion would be to choose a very light color on the other walls and ceiling, freshen them up and then the brick wall can be a bold, darker statement. It will be so lovely during winter to have a cozy moody space instead of a white and sterile one.
