One of the finest color mixing videos I have ever watched (and I feel like I’ve watched a million of them)

This was great! I remember trying to get a real high chroma green and not being able to do it. Also I’ve always added red to desaturate a color. The addition of raw umber and black seems like a much more controlled way to do it. Thanks!!!!

Yes, for really high chroma greens you basically need a green in a tube :) There's ways round it (phthalo blue + arylide yellow) but you may as well just get some green in a tube. Why make life hard? Really glad this was helpful.

I believe that the mystery of painting low chroma bluish -green- grey lichens on boulders has been solved by this most informative video. A masterful guide to the world of green! Thank you.

Seems you missed my instant post on your live stream Paul.(and it sucked David got the credit after i had already answered lol) But if your interested i'm painting a life size copy of Fumée d'ambre gris (Smoke of Ambergris). If you want to see the progress let me know and i can upload some pics for you. I have had access to the Clark Museum to see it close up and it has helped a lot. I couldn't believe it when you mentioned it. The timing was impeccable. Funny old world. :).

Oh sorry! It's hard to keep up with all the comments sometimes. Especially today since I'm vey tired after a busy week. I would be VERY interested to see your painting.

@@PaulFoxton Cool. I will send you some. I have used the Munsell App as well. Your right its all low chroma yellows and browns that you'd swear were grey on the palette. But next to each other they appear yellow even on the green side. Its really hard as its so subtle. Hope you have a great weekend. I look forward to your live streams every Friday after a stressful week. Keep them coming :)

I removed my post. I didn't have a point other than posting a link to Marc's video about mixing greens.
