Would it kill you to level match the before and after at 6:41 Waves? It's 2023.

I love Jeff's minimal relaxed approach to engineering, I also have this plugin and it has heaps of potential.

Instead of saying if you have seven plugins on a vocal you're doing something wrong, he should have said if you have seven vocal plugins that you're using there is an easier way..

It also helps to have vocals that are recorded well in a pro studio with a pro engineer. Versus some of us who have to mix vocals recorded in a bedroom on budget gear.

@@whodisguy7003 Of course, dude has tracking gear worth 10 times everything I possess and question my need to cook my vocals a tad more. Tho he just works in a fancy studio for very long, good for him.

Thank you for your review. With all due respect and considering the unique challenges faced by a rapper, it might be challenging to assess this plugin's suitability with an artist limited to a 3-note vocal range, as it may not fully encompass the spectrum required for singers.

Wait, hold up. You're saying if you're using more than 7 plugins you're doing something wrong? Yet the two plugins you're using in this showcase has a combined plugin force of 7 plugs? Silk vocals is a dynamic EQ, De-esser-ish and a compressor. The magma plugin consist of four plugins in one. Harmonic distorter, EQ, compressor and a gate. So, seven plugins in two. And not to speak of the "analog plugins" (hardware gear) used while recording? I'm just pointing this out to the people getting discouraged here that this statement is, well, weird. Keep mixing with your ears people and use whatever you need to get the sound you want. :)

Completely agree man, most of us have to deal with untreated room conditions, background noises and budget gear. The source signal for Jeff was already outstanding so ofc it didn't require the world to fix it

A good demo should be before/after level matched or all we hear is LOUDER. Interesting video and I now know how to use the thing, but level-matching is CRITICAL in a demo.

If the signal is recorded through the right mic for the job and a good mic, through a good pre amp and board, then much less processing with plugins is needed. Simple as that.

Can we use this plugin like 'Soothe 2' or 'Pro Q3' as a sidechain effect where the plugin suppresses/ reduces the problematic resonances? Thank you for sharing the above video!

not from within the plugin... youd have to set it up through your daw.. i made a video on this plugin and that was one of my complaints as well

May I know the order of the plugins ? Magma Tube Channel first ? or silk vocal first ?

Would be better to place Silk first (because silk is cleaning things up and setting the vocal good.. before the Magma adds more gain, saturation and mojo :) #HappyMixing

Rapping is literally the only category that makes it hip hop🤦♂️ since when was hip hop based on specific instrumental elements. Three six mafia, playboi carti, biggie, Drake, death grips, earl sweatshirt, Kanye. All hip hop.
