A. This shows the importance of committing and moving on to the next “problem.” B. This shows how great something can sound in 15 minutes when the source material was done well. Great vid, thanks!
@spinlightstudios Жыл бұрын
Totally agree! If you get stuck mixing one thing for ages you generally make it worse. The source material is definitely the most important thing to a smoother mixing process! Consistency in performance and mic placement are key! Thanks for watching mate!

Those raw tracks already sounded better than most of my finished mixes.
@spinlightstudios Жыл бұрын
Haha thanks man, they aren’t bad raw tones at all! Just needed some spicing up to fit in with the style!

@@baileydrummerLOL I thought that too. The source material without any mixing sounded so fucking good already.

how do I train my ears to listen to phase issues on earphones? tbh, I'm not able by any means to mix with speakers. I like my mixes but there's always some phase stuff happening that I'm not able to identify. And I use the exact same headphone so I don't have excuses. What would you suggest to train myself in this regard?
@Arkansya11 ай бұрын
sum your monitoring track or master bus to mono and you will hear phase cancellation even with headphones

Awesome! It also helps A LOT that drums are well recorded, otherwise it would take 15 years to fix them

Cool drum mix!! Is there any way we can get the drum tracks for practice mixing?
@spinlightstudios Жыл бұрын
Thanks man. Unfortunately not for this one as those drum tracks were a session job for a client and are not mine to give away. I’ll keep that in mind for next time maybe!

Samples B were so much better where can I get my hands on then mate?
@spinlightstudios Жыл бұрын
Hey man what do you mean by samples B?
@rhys7816 Жыл бұрын
The only thing i think you could of done better would be to pull some 200-500hz from the bass drum to remove some of the boxy sound but dam that was awesome to see you pull all that out of 15 minutes awesome work
