I bought a begringer usb mixer ,but i cant connect it to FL studio(DAW) ,for mixing down ,like with each channel,do i need a audio interface to do this?

The Usb is thought as an output for recording, not an input for your daw to input audio in the console. If you wanted to get audio out of your daw channels and onto the channals of your mixer, then you need a DA/AD converter. However that is dependant on the type of mixer you bought.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking of buying the same desk to move to out-of-the-box mixing. One thing I'd LOVE to understand is - how do you get the DAW returning IN through the mixer? As these desks don't have 'tape in'. Do you have everything going into a patchbay? So when you go from tracking to mixing, you'd manually patch the DAW out into the mixer line in? Thanks again.

The console does have a 2 track in, and on the control room bus you can switch between monitoring it and the main LR bus. When tracking and mixing I listen from the control room out mostly for volume adjustments for myself. I don't have it set up like I mentioned previously so I do switch two patch cables when I'm checking mixes. I do this mostly to check to make sure there isn't anything wrong with the consoles bus. Always be mindful of round trip latency in AD DA. hope this could help

You need to take the direct output from the console to the inputs of your audio interface when tracking and then use the outputs of your audio interface to your mixers line inputs when mixing. But it all depends on whether you have a split or in-line console. If you want to mix on a console but don't know where to start look at something like the tascam model 24 or the soundcraft signature MTK22 which are full multitrack mixers and audio interfaces this takes a lot of the extra work out and cost of the way and lets you learn your way around a console without breaking the bank. If you already have a large console then you will need to look for an audio interface that has enough inputs and outputs for a large console like the Presonus Quantum 4848 which is 48 line inputs for a console over thunderbolt.
